Thank you so very much for all your advice/information. Travelled with a printout of your post and just returned home. Such good info. Many thanks.

Oh! That’s wonderful to hear. Many thanks x

You are asking someone with two left feet.... But yes, there is dancing at the Club in the evening. Sometimes more sedate than others.
Many thanks - had taken my dance shoes out of the case but will pop them back in again!!

I’m a first time Seabourner in September too, but will be on Odyssey and will miss the ballroom dancing offered by Crystal. My sister and I liked the thought of the smaller ship. Shame we’re not on the same cruise!

First time Seabourn, but sailing on 22nd September. Are we too late?

Very useful information. Joining the ship on 22nd in Athens and first time on Seabourn. If you had a moment .... my sister and I have done several Crystal cruises and I particularly love to dance - is there anywhere to dance on board Odyssey? Thank you so much.

Never thought of that! Thank you.

Hi! I also am looking for a waterproof camera, but not planning on deliberately plunging it under the sea! I'll be on small boats where it will get splashed. Should I just get proper waterproof rather than splashproof?

We booked!
Thank you for all your advice. :D

It's fine... I just laughed!
Thank you for comments; I think we'll book. Such a beautiful place to explore. If you need advice on Scotland, let me know!

Goodness .... we like Crystal, but we come from good Highland (mongrel) stock and are nice people! Love an occasional faux pas!
The reviews which come to the top if you google are not very complimentary about the ship itself, not the staff or itinerary ... we were taking these with a pinch of salt, but I was just asking for advice. I fully understand that on an expedition ship it will be completely different to an ordinary cruise. There are other companies offering Kimberley cruises, I just wondered what would give Silversea the edge.
We've both been to Australia before, visiting family, and have wanted to go to this area for years. I was around Cairns 30 years ago when there were very few tourists and off the beaten track in Indonesia before that when, on one occasion, the whole village came out to look as I was so pale. Haven't been able to do much exploring due to family and work recently, but looking forward to coming to Australia again. If Silversea means getting wet, tired, dirty and drunk it sounds perfect!

Good evening. My sister and I are considering the Silversea Explorer round the Kimberley Coast at Easter 2016. Not new to cruising, we are Crystal fans, but wanted to see this particular area and not used to Silversea. Very varied reviews and would appreciate advice. Many thanks.
Athens to Venice - on board
in Seabourn Cruise Line

Well .... just filled in my survey and I think overall probably 6/10. On re-reading other posts, I am not alone in thinking the food in MDR was not brilliant. We didn’t have a good “entry” ... checked in before we got onboard quite smoothly, but once on board there was no-one. We had no idea where to go, no plan of the ship, no champagne, nothing. Had to ask other guests what we were supposed to do. Very informal: which is fine once you are a second-time traveller! The cabin was better than any other cruise line, but we will probably go back to Crystal. Good itinerary and made some nice friends. Boards here very friendly! Great advice, so thank you.
