We are on the Millennium southbound cruise tour. (Land first) on August 20. We can check in for cruise but haven’t heard a thing about the land portion yet. Does anyone know approximately when we might get some information?
Just a bit anxious.

Good info! I am now leaning toward upgrading to the Tundra Wilderness tour. From what I've read, on Celebrity it is a $75.00 up charge.
Our trip isn't until mid August so hopefully the roads will be ok by then.

Oh! I didn't notice that. We thought we'd be at Pikes Waterfront Lodge. We reserved a room there the day prior too. But can cancel if for some reason that isn't where we'll stay with the tour.

SunsetPoint,
That's how I felt too. When I called about it they pointed me to Celebritycruisetours.com, under the resources tab you can find the optional land excursions. It's labeled 2018 but I'm told they are still valid.

Thanks so much!!!
We're staying at the Denali Park Village. We arrive Sunday around 4:30 pm so we have that evening. Monday the trip includes the Natural History tour in the morning (unless we upgrade) and have the rest of that day. Then some time on Tuesday morning on our own.
That does sound like the same riverboat trip.

We are on the Celebrity cruisetour. We have booked our shore excursions for the cruise portions, but I have a few questions regarding the land portion.
In Fairbanks we go on a riverboat cruise, visit and an Indian Village and a dog sled camp. I'm wondering if you get up close and personal with the dogs? Is this similar to the Dog sled camp excursions on the ship?
In Denali the tour includes the Natural History tour but there is an option to upgrade to the Tundra Wilderness tour. It looks like the Tundra tour is 8 hours and appears to be mostly a bus ride. Is that true? I'd rather hike than ride a bus all day. Suggestions?
Any must do suggestions for our free time in Fairbanks, Denali, Talkeetna, Anchorage or Seward?
Thanks!

Thank you all! Good feedback. I appreciate it!

We're so excited for our Alaska land and cruise tour in August. We're doing the land portion first (Fairbanks, Denali, Talkeetna, Anchorage, Seward) then boarding Millennium (Hubbard Glacier, Juneau, Skagway, Icy Straits Point, Ketchican and inside passage, Vancouver)
Any suggestions on packing only one suitcase per person? I've heard it's a bit more relaxed dress for Alaskan cruises, is that true?
Also, do you have any "must do" recommendations for shore excursions or sites not to miss for either the land or cruise? We're a pretty active group between mid 30's to early 60's.
I'd love to see the Northern lights but I think we might be a bit early for that. Aug 15-28
Would love to hear your thoughts and tips.
Thanks!

We’ll have to consider this one. Sounds great,

Thank you. Great info to get me started. I appreciate it!

We're interested in seeing Alaska. I would like to do the land and sea. My husband is thinking just land and not cruising.
I would love to hear anyone's opinion or your experiences.
Thanks!

Thanks! A lot of good info here. We board for our back to back as you are leaving. Enjoy your time with your Mom! I often travel with my daughter too. Too bad you couldn't get to Key West. I'm looking forward to that stop. I've never been there.

The food tour sounds great! History as well as local food. I tried Mofongo last year, it was very good.

We're on Feb. 12, booked a year out and is going to St. Maarten instead of St. Lucia. But even when we booked it said St. Maarten.
I noticed that cruises before and after go to St. Lucia. I don't get it.

Good info. Thanks. Will be there in a couple weeks. Might give the trolley a try.

Do they still allow you to bring some bottled water and a certain amount of soda onboard? If so, does anyone know the limit allowed?
Thanks!

Thanks. Getting excited now!

Well, now I see the Columbia port of call. Oops.
-
Celebrity Equinox will be in port overnight in Cartagena, Columbia.
Can anyone give us some ideas on what to do there for 2 days? Is it safe to walk around? Any info is appreciated!
-
We'll be on the Equinox which doesn't go through the canal. Just in the port of Colon for the day. Celebrity offers a few different tours:
Panama Canal tour - board a ferry boat and venture into the canal... 8 hours long
Grand tour of panama - journey through the heartland to discover the Panama Canal, with Embera Indian dance performance. Board a boat for lake exploration. 5 hours long
Or
Expansion oh the Panama Canal the present & the future. - discovering the workings. Appears to be from a platform. 5 hours long.
We're in port for 10 hours.
Any suggestions?

Thanks for all the great info. Even more excited now!

I just sent them in several emails. Sorry, anything too large wouldn't send.
Have a blast!

So, posting the compasses isn't working out so well for me.
I have them all scanned. If you want to provide an email address I can send them.
Looking for Athens tour recommendation.

We’ll be in Athens 2 days prior to our cruise and would like to do a tour. Any recommendations for what company to use? We have 5 adults. Doesn’t need to be private.
