My husband and I are gold members and we cruised in November on grandeur with first time cruisers. They would not allow them to do priority check in with us since they weren't crown and anchor members, so we ended up all sticking together and going through the regular check in line.

Sorry, Hit the reply mid thought! Grandeur was only our second cruise so I don't have much to compare it to but I thought the food was a real disappointment from what we had on Explorer the previous year.
Anyways, we are also looking into a fall cruise but are leaning towards Brilliance out of Boston.

My husband and I were on grandeur this past October. We had a great time overall, we thought the condition of the ship was excellent, but food and entertainment was lacking. The best meals we had were at the specialty restaurant,

We were on grandeur in October and participated in the brunch at chops. It included a galley tour and brunch with mimosas and bellinis, I believe it was $25/person. On one of our first days on board someone came around and told us about it while in the main dining room. The food was excellent, hands down the best meal we had on the ship.
And we weren't suite guests. It may open to suite guest first because it is a limited number of spaces but not sure.

58 days! Grandeur to the Bahamas!

We made the spicy crispy shrimp tempura roll, and the California roll with crab. We also made 2 shrimp sashimi. It was all set up when we arrived, everyone made the same thing so you didn't get to pick what roll you wanted. It was great though, if you like sushi, you should check it out.
Sounds delicious and fun! Do you recall what day it was offered? Thanks!

Another fun point, if you like sushi, Izumi did a sushi making class! $20 a person and you make 2 rolls and 2 sashimi. Then they seat you, and you eat it along with miso soup and edemame. It was fun, and worth it.
For any of you that Was on this sailing, and went to quest you may have seen me. My team won finally!! Team 4 :D
Thanks for all your info! We're sailing on the grandeur in October! This sushi class sounds great. What kind of roll did you make? Were you given any options to pick from? This sounds like something me and my husband would enjoy.

When we used MTD on the Explorer in October we would usually make a reservation for the following day as we were leaving the dinning room. A few times I called the day of and there was no problem. You don't have to make a reservation but if you want to stick with the same wait staff it is recommended.

We used the MTD option this past October on the Explorer. We had no problems at all! We always made a reservation and sometimes as late as the same day...they were always able to accommodate us just fine. There were some nights where people were waiting and I was glad we had a reservation but even then it didn't seem like they would be waiting long.

Holiday Inn at the stadiums has a snooze and cruise package.
We stayed there and we had a good time.
This seems like a great option! Thanks for the info!

Thanks for your info! I'm torn between two cruises and can't decide which to go with. We had such a great experience on Explorer that I would love to stick with RC, but I guess my concern is since Grandeur is smaller will there be as much to do on sea days. Grandeur will make a stop in key west which is one of main reasons for looking into this cruise. The other cruise option is the breakaway on Norwegian, obviously that ship is a lot larger and has many activities. Such decisions! :-)

Anyone know where I can find a cruise compass for the Bahamas out of Baltimore cruise on grandeur? I'm trying to do some research of the ship and what it has to offer before booking. We were on explorer in October to Bermuda, we loved the ship but would like to try something different.

I traveled with my husband, mom and sister. Two separate staterooms. We wanted the staterooms all linked to the same credit card so we just stayed together in the regular check-in line. It really didn't make the process that much longer since we always arrive on the early side. We were on the boat before we knew it!
