  1. Hi, I'll be in Belize in a little over a week on the Carnival Magic, and I'm taking a friend who's never cruised before. We've got some great excursions booked for our other two stops, but for Belize she asked if we could just have a beach day.

Are there any spots that are inexpensive to get to and great for just a beach day? I thought about staying on the ship but then she won't really get the chance to say she's been in Belize that way.

    Your help is appreciated. :)

Are you on the June 29th, Magic? I am on that one.

Carnival has an Island Beach Break excursion. Without lunch its $49.

    With lunch, its $59.

There is also the Aquatic Semi-sub excursion and beach day at Rendevous Caye that looks awesome! But im claustrophobic. LOL

  2. Maybe the cabin you are trying to price match to has a different occupancy rate.

My thoughts exactly. Just because a cabin is next door, across the hall, or even connected, does not mean that it is identical to your cabin. In order to get price drops through Early Saver, your exact cabin category has to still be available to re-price.

  3. Just off the Magic April 6th, plenty of country music. I noticed it at the Red Frog and at the Ocean Plaza. One more thing I noticed was the gentlemanly way ladies were treated by fellow guests, - men waited until women had exited the elevator and held the door! Doors held for ladies throughout the entire ship - it was wonderful! I plan to cruise from Texas more often!

Sailed on Magic on March 30th. There is a live artist that plays country music every afternoon at the Lido pool area. We also hear country music in the Red Frog Pub, and in the Vibe nightclub on the next to the last night, they had a 2 or 3 hour period where they played country music. Also, I LOVE country music and the DJ was very good at playing the songs I requested. I love the ship and will sailing her again on April 27th and again on May 18th!

  4. Hi. We were on Triumph in January and also found it be a great ship, with great crew, and I personally felt very safe on it. They were constantly cleaning and sanitizing every inch of the ship. I felt safer from illness than back home, and as a matter of fact, my fiance got sick last week at home with flu and pneumonia. But on the ship, we were all just fine!

Just an FYI, there is no Italian Restaurant or Steakhouse on Triumph, and the burger restaurant is called "Guys Burgers." Not Dave's. But you are correct in the fact that the burgers and fries and all of the toppings are delicious!!!

    Glad you enjoyed your cruise!:)

  5. I won a free cruise on Carnival and chose Magic, (cuz she is my favorite ship) on March 30th, doing this itinerary. I would love to see the Funtimes also!

Did they have the Unlimited High Speed internet while you were on board?

We had it last May, on Magic, and it was $134.99 for the week.

It was very fast and worth every cent. I will be cruising without my boyfriend

in March, and would love to be able to communicate with him via Facebook.

  6. I am a TA, and I just had a client transfer a booking to me from Carnival, that they booked last year! She transferred it to me two days before the final was due! Not sure where you all got your information. But this booking was a few months old when I got it. BEFORE FINAL.

  8. I have a question for you about the use of the future cruise certificates and Early Saver rates. I am cruising in April and have the $80.00 in on-board credit for the bar promotion (a promo from December 2013). I also used my future cruise certificate for $100.00, but was able to get the double-credit of $200.00 with the January 2014 promo. I am booked under Early Saver and am wondering if I would lose the additional $100.00 in on-board credit if I see a price drop on my cruise. I realize I will probably lose the $80.00 for bar credits. If any of you are following what I am saying, let me know that you think will happen if I see a price drop after final payment.

I am a TA and have a client that had the same question. If you accept a price drop that does not include a bar credit, you will lose the bar credit. However you will not lose the $200 that you received for booking the future cruise. BUT,...make sure when you are speaking to your PVP, or Carnival rep, that they make sure that when they re-book you at the lower fare, they make sure your $200 Future Cruise double credit is still on there. I had to call them back when I got my client a price drop recently. She had a Future Cruise Certificate that I submitted months ago for her. She got $100 off the fare and $100 Onboard credit. After I called in to get her the price drop, I checked her booking to make sure that the amounts were correct, and lo and behold, the On board credit was not there. So I called back, got a supervisor on the phone, and they had to manually add the OBC back on!

Is this brand new info? We were on Magic on May 18th 2014 and we paid $134.99 for unlimited high speed internet. I wasn't sure if Unlimited is still an option. but I will see what I can find out and come back and let you all know.

  10. It amazes me that you just don't get it.... NOTHING was ever "free"... It was included in your fare... Fares are lower or the same as they were 25 years ago yet all the costs have gone up cosiderably. Instead of rasing all the fares, the cruise lines have figured out a way to stay profitable with a low base fare by giving the guests..... CHOICES!! It can't be both ways. You want everything included, be prepared to have the fare go up around 50%. Some people aren't interested and just want the lowest price point for a vacation... Others want to spend more for an upgraded experience. Why should those who aren't interested in those things subsidize it for those who are? What is so hard to understand about that?

Cruise lines are in business to make a profit. This isn't a secret.... If you want everything included in your base fare, there are other upscale lines that do this. Of course, you don't pay $79 a day....

Excellent points! And as a TA, I might add, that other lines have Specialty restaurants that have an added fee. However, you will not cruise on one of those ships for the cruise rate you pay for a Carnival cruise! So, stop complaining! If you don't want to pay to eat in the Steakhouse,...don't! But we love to have that option, and in our opinion, the Steak in there is well worth every cent of the added cost. If you don't want to pay for a specialty coffee, then drink the "free" coffee. I, personally love the frozen coffees in the specialty shops. They taste as good as Starbucks, for half the price. The cruise line has to make a profit on the "extras". Because they darned sure are not making it off of the excellent cruise fares we are paying them!

  11. Thats great! We just got back yesterday and I am already looking at our next cruise:)

We sailed last May on Magic, loved it so much, came home and booked this May. Then we booked Triumph and sailed on her from January 9-13th. Came home and then I won this free one January 18th, and will be sailing on it March 30th. Then the May 18th Magic cruise, so by May 25th, I will have sailed on 3 cruises! And I hope I can squeeze in some more! LOL :D

  12. It was an unfortunate situation overblown by the ridiculous, ever-salivating media. Thankfully the voices of the rational pax were heard from.

All in all, not much to recover from in my opinion, so kudos to CCL.

Agree 100%! I have sailed twice since the Triumph fire, (once on Triumph itself), and have 2 cruises booked this year. (So far.) I think this cruise line has gone above and beyond to prove that their passenger's safety is priority #1.

Carnival isn't now, nor will they ever be, the only cruise line with issues that make it to the media to over sensationalize! RCCL has boat loads of sick people, Celebrity has sick people, NCL has sick people and other issues. Other ships have had fires. Lucky for them there were bigger news stories then, so they lucked out of being the only thing for CNN to report on. Keep up the great work, CCL!

  13. I'm having two streams of thought here...

The first one.... did you try and call a travel agent? Sometimes they're able to get better perks which make booking as a group worth it.

The second on... if a travel agent can't get you a good deal, might as well let people book themselves; it takes the extra work off of your shoulders as the organizer (or at least, you sound like the organizer, excuse me if I'm wrong!!) and let's people be responsible for their own vacation. It might also take some pressure off of you to have to be the entertainer, organizer, gatherer of people, tour leader, etc (if you're the one organizing it as a group that is).

Although... there might be a perk or two... I think on Carnival if you book 8 rooms you get yours for free... so if you have 15-20 cabins filled, that's two free cabins, so in "theory" you could spread that cost savings along to everyone, or keep one "free" cabin for yourself, and then spread the savings from the other free cabin among everyone else.

Well, you get three very different streams of thought for the price of two. Hope this was marginally helpful!

You do not get one free cabin for every 8. You get a free berth, as in person.

I am a travel agent with 27 years experience selling cruises. I have a question? Is your group flexible on dates, ship, etc? Because Amenity Points are what you get as a perk for booking as a group. Amenity points can be exchanged for things like on board credits, wine, etc. Not every sailing has the same amount of amenity points. Some have more. Some have less, and some have none. If you are flexible you can have your TA or Carnival groups dept scan the cruise dates, and they will tell you how many Amenity points you can get for each sailing. Groups can get complicated. Especially for the person assigned as the coordinator of it all. But if the number of amenity points is good enough, it can be well worth it to book as a group. I wish you luck!:)

  14. Just realized that my countdown ticker said 99 days to go, woohoo!:)

We are on that cruise too!!! Thanks for pointing that out. I was so involved in the free cruise I just won on Carnival Magic in March, that I totally wasn't paying attention that we are now in double digits for May! WOOOOO HOOOOO is right!!!!;):):D

  15. I am soooooooo very excited! Carnival held a promotion for TA's for the month of January called "50 Cruises a Day Giveaway", and for every day that you booked a cruise in January for your clients, your name goes into a drawing to win a FREE cruise on Carnival. And on January 18th, they drew MY name! I never thought I would win!!! I had a list of cruises to choose from and they had pretty much every ship, departing from every US port for February, March, April, and May! Luckily, I wanted another cruise on Carnival Magic, and I was able to book myself and up to 3 friends for only the cost of taxes and tipping per person. So we are doing a girls cruise for 7 nights to Mahogany Bay, Belize and Cozumel for $154.92 per person! :) I will probably NEVER get a deal like that again, as long as I live!!! 27 years selling Carnival cruises has paid off! Thank you so much Carnival!!!
