Unfortunately, the Infinity WiFi was horrible for us in March. We were aft 11. The ship hasn't been revolutionized so maybe will improve when it is done. I had to be near our cabin door to get much service and it cut out a lot. I ended up getting up early and going to Cafe al Bacio near a router for better service. I'm not sure about calls - we did WiFi texting some and it worked most of the time.
I was spoiled on the Edge, with routers in every cabin and great service all over the ship. I will probably get the cheaper surf package on the Infinity next year (before renovation) and hope for the best. We will be on 6 - mid-ship this time.
When will the Infinity be revolutionized ?

Last Aug. my family booked a direct flight from Baltimore to Tampa , 2 hours on SW airlines. After 1 weather delay and 1 mechanical delay and long lay over in Atlanta, they arrived 36 hours later ! Stuff happens !

In my opinion, you never will have enough time to see London. We did a transatlantic from Southampton a few years ago and only had 2 days pre-cruise. Needless to say it was not enough time. Agree that 1st day is recuperating from jet lag so do something easy. Then put your running shoes on and go til you drop.
We took an all day bus tour that I prebooked before we left home and that worked out well where we had so little time. We decided not to do hop on bus because we felt we wouldn’t be able to maximize our day with the wait in between to re- board bus. We had a great tour guide and we saw a lot in one day. We were at Buckingham Palace nice and early for changing of guard and guide got us up very close to palace. Stopped at St. Paul’s Cathedral and went inside and had a tour there. Drove thru city and tour guide pointed out various buildings. Had an hour for lunch to relax. Our last stop was Tower of London and another tour there. Last stop was boat ride on Thames. Ticket included the 3 places we visited. We didn’t feel rushed at all. Would recommend if you don’t want travel on your own. We too were in same age category.
I prebooked bus tickets for journey to Southampton and took taxi from hotel to bus station. That was a nice trip and driver pointed out sights along way. It’s about 1.5 hr trip to port. All in all we loved our visit but had many other things we wanted to do. We used taxis several times to save time but they are expensive. I’d be happy to share other ideas with you.
I think the biggest thing is a hotel central to attractions. We stayed in Earls Court area and did some walking in area. Restaurants galore there.
Happy planning and enjoy your cruise.
I was also wondering what tour company you used.

The metro does not run as far as Sharjah. You could use the Red Line from Business Bay to one of the interchange stations then change to the Green Line that has stations on the Deira side of the city and runs as far as the ‘border’ between Dubai and Sharjah then get a taxi the rest of the way. Other than that you would need to take a taxi or Uber the full way...
Anne...
Hi Anne, do you need an app on your phone that is different from the one used in the USA to request an Uber ride? Is Uber less than taxis ?
Thanks Gayle

I have been trying all day to book excursions, but the website never works, I get so far and there is an error. I called and ,of course, the rep has no trouble on the web from his end and says he will report my frustration. Asks if I would like to do it over the phone, which did not make sense, since I cannot view any excursions Anyone else having problems ??

Thanks again for all the wonderful info. -
I did a repositioning cruise that included the same India ports and we really enjoyed it. I highly recommend doing a Backwater tour in Cochin. We were somewhat unsure of how long it would take etc and though pricey, booked a small group tour through the cruise line (RCI) and there were only six of us. It was one of the many highlights of the cruise with a lot of photo opportunities. We booked two private tours with another couple on our roll call using Mumbai Magic for both Mumbai and Mormugao. Excellent communication in the planning process and we were able to customize a few stops on their planned tours. We had a private car and they met us outside the port gate.
You are in for one great vacation and planning is half the fun:D
Hi, I am also looking at doing a cruise with Celebrity that offers the same ports. Any information would be appreciated. Did you find it difficult to secure visa for India ? My e-mail is gdpetinoatverizondotnet.
Thanks in advance for any information, GG
