  1. In 2018 i stayed in cabin 7029 on Marina and didnt sleep well because I could hear the people in the adjoining rooms closing drawers and closet doors.  I dont think they were slamming them at all, I could just hear them.  In 2013 I sailed on Nautica and didnt hear a thing.

Has anyone stayed in an exceptionally quiet veranda stateroom on Marina?

    Thanks!

  2. Hi, Beth! Appreciate your follow-up and this very good question. Not knowing your age, health, energy level, fitness, weather for that day, etc., I would only be guessing as to what works best for you. But, factually, with that map, it appears that going roughly west to this specific dining place and then doubling-back to return east to around their City Hall would require roughly twice as much time in walking back to the ship.

Do you have much time and/or energy? Great mapping website and planning by you. Keep researching and asking smart questions.

we are both in good shape. im 45 and mom is 75 but probably in better shape than i am! she bikes and walks regularly. do you know if that area is congested? our thought was to bike to make it go quicker but are a little nervous after seeing photos of hundreds of bikers all biking together. we could also eat somewhere closer but that ice cream place did get amazing reviews.

  3. Here is, maybe, today's final postings from when I went back and looked for added Copenhagen visuals that have not previously been posted. Hope these are of interest and value!! Added comments, questions, reactions, etc.?? Keep up the great sharing.

a friend recomended a kebab place and an ice cream place a mile further down from tivoli gardens. we were planning on walking back to the ship afterwards. do you think that is too far of a walk back? we could also bike part way but are a bit nervous to bike in really crowded areas.

  4. my mom and i will be in copenhagen next month and a friend of mine told me about an amazing kebab place that is about 3.5 miles from where we dock at langelinie

this is the address..... Pasha Kebab, Enghavevej 57, 1674 København

we were thinking of biking but have read such mixed reviews and are a little nervous about it. i am 45 and my mom is 75 but in excellent shape and bikes regularly. anyway, after seeing this thread we are considering walking back but it is pretty far. any suggestions? we could also take a bus part of the way but i dont know much about doing that.

  5. FWIW, Google Maps isn't necessary a very good rail journey planner in the UK (maybe nowhere). The national rail page, http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/, is imperfect, but IMHO better. It shows trains with no stops from Waterloo and Victoria, as mentioned, but a connection at Reading from Paddington. What it doesn't show, although you can make a pretty good guess in this case, is whether the transfer is cross platform (get off, walk across the platform, and get on the other train), or involves dragging yourself and your bags quite a way (in this case, it looks like you'd go from platform 7 to platform 3, which could easily involve at least two sets of stairs and a not necessarily leisurely walk in 12 minutes). Rail travelers on the UK board will tell you that, which is one of the many things I find invaluable about this board for a North American traveler to the UK.

    thanks!!

  6. We love Pop up maps, and there is definitely one for Stockholm, not sure about the other cities. Here’s a link to it on Amazon.co.uk https://www.amazon.co.uk/Stockholm-PopOut-Map-handy-pocket-size/dp/1845879872/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1529904759&sr=8-6&keywords=pop+up+maps

Pop up maps are small folded up maps. They actually have 5 maps all together, usually including information about public transport too. They just fit easily in your pocket.

awesome, thanks. i was looking at those on amazon and wondering if they were any good. my mom got a lonely planet one for stockholm and half the streets names arent even listed.

  7. i guess i should clarify..... i am talking about a physical map that you buy from a store or amazon .... not one to download offline.

you know... like we did in ancient times ;-)

the copenhagen streetwise map is good

the lonely planet ones... not so good
