  1. On Summit -

    CABIN #: 3132

    DECK #: 3

    CLASS: ov 6

    AREA: midship -ish

QUIET?: relatively quiet. No noise from hallway, neighbors or people above.

    PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:

Pros: huge round window, newer room that was added during rehab. Great location, near both aft staircases and midship area.

Cons: constant vibration during trip and there was a low level noise like a mini-helicoopter when tied up at port.

  2. Just back from the august 11th cruise on summit. We had room 3132. I absolutely LOVED the big window and the fact that everything was new-new. Great location near two sets of stairs and main lobby, and darling little "private" hallway. However.... The room had a constant vibration, very noticeable. There was also a low-grade "helicopter" sound outside that was audible at all times... Got quite anniying by the end when trying to sleep. Room was otherwise quiet, never heard our neighbors or noise from above. No noise from conference rooms either. If it werent for the vibration and outside noise, we would book this room again.

  3. What really grinds my gears are these silly scheduled departure times from ports... This is MY vacation, I should be allowed however much time on an island or port to enjoy MY cruise...without having to worry about the cruiseship departing if I don't get back on time!! I mean really, don't they know who is paying the big bucks to be on their cruiseline??!!

  4. This has me seriously hoping that they will be available on the Summit. Escargot would totally MAKE DH's honeymoon experience awesome (aside from me being there if course) ;-)

  5. Just to let you know when we were on the Summitt in April the woodchuck was available in the Michaels club.

Sweet! I'm a wine and cider girl so its cool that I have the pear cider to look forward to when I need a break from wines!

  6. I Would Love To Put This on My Resume:

    European Helix Snail Farmer

    I know, right??

I think I might start telling people this at bars when they ask me what I do. Need to look into European Helix Snail Farming to make sure I get all the lingo down correctly....

Although...if it is easy enough to start up, I think I know a company that needs a few extra snails onboard its ships!

  7. Ok I need advice, I've reasd so much that I think I'm completely confused, lol.

DH and I will be be cruising on Celebrity Summit out of Bayonne on August 11th, 7 day cruise.

We will be driving up from MD. I'm trying to find the most cost effective and stress-free option for us.

Or options are either: Park at the Pier.

    OR

Stay at a hotel, leave our car there, and take a shuttle/car service to the pier and back.

Which brings me to my questions:

Which nearby/trusted hotels have the stay and park option WITH shuttle to the pier?

Which nearby/trusted hotels have the stay and park option, BUT require an independent car service?

    TIA!!!!!

  8. Thanks for everyone's replies! It sounds like on some ships the no-smoking rule is enforced better than on others....but at least the ships are primarily no-smoking period. Good to hear about the casino too!

Would love to hear about more experiences regarding this! Also would love to know where the "designated smoking" areas are on other ships in the Celebrity line.... So as to avoid rooms near that area. Nothing worse than not being able to breathe (literally!!) in your own room!

  9. Ok so I know that Celebrity has mostly non-smoking ships.... smoking is only allowed in designated areas and is not supposed to be allowed on balconies (for those staying in veranda staterooms).

Does anyone know how much this is actually enforced? Especially in regards to people smoking on their balcony? (and I realize that not all guests are as considerate as other guests, every neighbor is always a wild card...always have to factor that into the equation.)

Just curious as I'm allergic to cigarette smoke, and if people tend to break the rules in regards to their veranda staterooms, it would be enough to sway me from getting a veranda stateroom. Is this a reasonable worry or do the guests of Celebrity ships mostly stick to the rules regarding smoking in designated areas??

  10. Thanks everyone for all of your insights into these span of cabins! I'm very excited, booked Cabin #3132 to Bermuda in August! I'm looking forward to that huge porthole window... I hope when we dock at Bermuda we face out into the harbor!

And a big "thank-you" to whomever it was that posted a slideshow of pics from one of these cabins - - don't know what thread it was on -- but you are awesome, your pics totally "sold" me on the cabin!

  11. Does anyone know if the glass table moves? (seen in front of the overstuffed chair thingy) My FI wants to know, as he sees it as something to trip over and get in the way.

I'm still debating between cabin 3112 and 3144. Someone help sway me one way or the other! :) Does anyone know what is "beyond" cabin 3144 going aft? Crew quarters or something else?? TIA!

  12. Newbie member, but glad to see all the recent reviews of the 3112-3144 rooms! After all the great comments, and seeing that picture of the huge porthole window, I have one (3144) on hold for a possible honeymoon cruise to Bermuda. Hope FI gives me the green light to book!
