We were also in Bar last week. The shuttle bus into town is free but was not announced until the morning we arrived in port. You just walk out and jump on the mini bus. You are dropped by waterfront with pebble beach, bars and cafes and some market stalls. Not much to do there but there are lots of sections on the beach with sunbeds and umbrellas. We took swim stuff and went to the beach area and rented beds and brolly and paid 10 euros. Beaches are rocky but we took some cheap wetsuit shoes and the water was really warm. There were waiters and you could order drinks and food at reasonable prices. If you are on the Venetian Vistas cruise - this is Formal night in the restaurant

We booked our holiday online on the Tui website. When we booked our excursions they appeared on our online confirmation - 'manage my booking' using our booking reference number.

Confirmation for Port of Zadar following on from Broughton's request. We have just returned from Venitian Vistas cruise and we purchased shuttle bus tickets for Zadar from Destination Services the day before at £7 per person. They are open tickets with no set times. There were several large buses waiting at the port, just handed ticket to the lady waiting at steps and walked straight on. Also we didn't have to wait too long for a bus back to the ship. It was a pleasant wander around the small town but probably our least favourite stop of the whole cruise. I hope this helps and have a great holiday.

Hi, we used Alla a few years ago - excellent. We contacted them through their website giving details of our ship and the required tour and they arranged to collect us from the ship. When we got through security at the port they were waiting for us as arranged and our mini bus had 8 other people from our ship (so 12 people in total). It was the highlight of our cruise.

Thank you for your replies and information. We have been to Venice recently, so plan to explore closer to the Ship in the Cannargeio area - would it be possible to walk this ? Broughton I will post on my return regarding Zadar. Does anyone know anything about Korcula or Split regarding where we will dock ? Many thanks.

We are off on the Venetian Vista cruise in July, but I am unable to find much information regarding reviews of the ports/docking locations for this cruise and particularly how close to the main town/sightseeing area we will be. I am trying to decide if we would be able to walk or will need to find transport if we are not taking a tour.
The ports of call are -Venice and Trieste - Italy / Dubrovnik, Zadar, Korcula, Split - Croatia and Bar, Montenegro
I can find information regarding Dubrovnik, but not too much for the other ports. Would welcome any information. We will be a family of four. Many thanks.

Thank you for the information. We will be trying to burn off all those extra calories !!

Hi, we will be on The Brilliance Of The Seas this summer and was thinking of using the Gym on some of the sea days. I was wondering if you needed to pay to use the gym if you are doing so independently ?
Many thanks

Forgot to say, we booked just before the main brochure came out, using a preview brochure. In hindsight this was not the best time for us to book, and the better offers were after the main brochure was issued. Hope this helps.

We had the same problem. We used the vouchers when booking over 12 months before the cruise, only for them to then bring out an offer including free drinks packages, free parking etc. I spoke to them, but as we had used a small amount of Tesco vouchers (about £300) they were adamant that we could not get the new offer without cancelling and losing our deposit -which as we are a family of 4 would be £600. I will not book using vouchers again, and as this will be our first cruise with RCL it has not been the best of starts !!
I also think there is now a limit of vouchers that you are able to use against any one cruise.

Lovely to read your review - thank you. We have booked the BoS for 2015.
njkruzer - we used Alla Tours in St Petersburg last summer and were very happy with the service they provided.

Hi, we have booked an Oceanview, four berth cabin - 3068 on Brilliance. I think it has two pull-down bunks. Does anyone have a photo of this type of cabin. I have searched but have been unable to find one. Many thanks.

We were in Dubrovnik 4 weeks ago on Venetian Vistas cruise. We bought ice creams in the old town and had to use Kuna to pay. When the french tourists served before us tried to pay with euros, they were refused and the lady serving took the ice cream back ! Taxi from the port charged in euros though.
