  1. Awesome review! We can relate to so many of your comments, as we have sailed on the Grandeur three times and have booked a fourth for January 2016. (45-minute drive for us)

We, too, had the Happy Days guy for entertainment on our Bahamas cruise. Poor choice. We have, however, had many excellent comedians and entertainers!

Our family will be sailing on Disney at the end of 2016.....can't wait!!!

Question: What is the "split bathroom" you refer to on Disney?

  2. Why do people need to take the compass thats referred to on page 1?

The "Cruise Compass" is a daily publication placed in your cabin each evening. It contains loads of information about ports, timing for dining venues, show times, and most importantly, activities around the ship. I love to highlight the activities I plan to attend for the following day!

  3. Laundry detergent pods for washing out bathing suits

    Hand soap pump

    Small Digital Clock

    Magnetic Clips

    Highlighters for Cruise Compass

    2-way radios

Clear plastic shoe bag to hang in closet. Great for toiletries & misc items

    Multi-plug outlet

    Clothespins

Stack of $1 bills for room service tipping

    Lanyard for sea pass card

    Snorkel & mask

  4. Smaller, but that has its advantages. The staff have a chance to get to know you and your preferences better and not tons of walking. The biggest attraction for us is the close proximity to home....less than an hour. To eliminate two full days of PITA airport headaches is a big plus. Food has been very good, entertainment is about 75% good in our opinion and your standard Crown & Anchor receptions, Love & Marriage gameshow and The Quest are always entertaining.

  5. There's a manned table of tagged, confiscated items waiting for folks to claim when they disembark. The table is full of irons. Try hanging the clothes in the bathroom with a hot shower running.

Also, we have packed bottled water in both the checked bags and carry-ons with no issues at all. Two bottles of wine per cabin is allowed, as well.

  6. We have stayed on Deck 8 and occasionally we heard pool chairs or towel carts, but not at bedtime, fortunately.

Sailing on the Grandeur for our 3rd time in January. Love the ship and the more personalized service that comes with a smaller ship. Still plenty to do onboard or just relax in the Solarium where the Park Cafe is housed.

What a breeze sailing out of Baltimore....lots of historical sights, including Fort McHenry and sailing under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
