We're taking our 16 and 14 year olds on Royal next month, so I will report back! We're going over spring break though, so I would guess there will be more kids on our sailing than in January.
Not really sure what the Royal Caribbean cruise will have to do with the Princess cruise but I would like to hear how it goes.

Not sure if this is the right cruise for kids?(well behaved). This is the 7th cruise for the kids- all Carnival. Will be 8,14,15 when it sails. I did a Princess cruise in 2010 when I was 45 and seemed like I was the youngster on the ship. The kid areas were not even open because there were no kids. The Royal Princess looks like it has all kinds of kid stuff. Thanks.

FTTF is great for us. Early boarding, our room is ready as soon as we board( trying lugging around stuff for a family of five), getting in the VIP line at the front desk and getting through the lines getting on the ship is good too.

Thanks!!!

My one question is do they have two shows each night? So you can the show wether you eat early or late.
-
We have done private excursions in the past. We use common sense. Like we won't do non Carnival excursions that are far from the ship of ones that are not scheduled to return close to sail time.

I was convicted of major crimes in the 1980's spent the rest of the century in prison. Never once has anyone given me a second look. Just saying....
-
Don't be silly! Nobody cares or checks your past criminal history to go a Caribbean cruise! I have been on 7 cruises and nobody has checked me at any time ever getting on or off the ship. The only time you have to show your ID other than your ship card is when you first get on the ship and when you return and go through customs and if you don't have any serious outstanding warrants no one gives a damn. They are not going to stop you from getting on a cruise for outstanding traffic tickets! Enjoy!

Not really finding anything through Carnival that suits our needs. Kids 7-14. And we want to spend some time in the port pool too. Was looking at Ocean World but we get in port at 9:00 and the trip to Ocean World starts at 10:30 and gets back at 2:30. We depart at 4:00. Others have said the excursion lasts 5 hours. We'll be happy to just stay at Port too.

for us, the buffet is not an option, so YTD allows to eat around the shows
As I said earlier we are seated with our group(older kids with families and our elderly parents). I am not going to miss out sitting with them- it's my favorite part of the cruise. I am just curious if it has changed on this ship where we could see the shows also. Nothing more nothing less. I am not mad at Carnival or anyone. I enjoy my cruises!

We were on a 7 day, and the shows were:
Flick on Sunday night
Country Road on Tuesday night
88 Keys on Wednesday night
America Rocks on Friday night
They also had Hasbro Game Show on Monday and Thursday, which we did not attend. They are at 7:30 only.
This was my experience as well but we only had three of those shows and they all were between the dinner times. When were you on it??
-
Just off the Magic, and we had late dining. We attended the Playlist Production shows at 10:15.
Thanks! Did they have a show every night?
-
Agree some of these shows are not the best but the kids all know this new music and love it!! I just hope we have the best of both like we have had on other ships. Or is this the way it's done now?

We have been accustomed to eating late dinner with our traveling companions and family. Really is one of our major highlights of the cruise for us. Also our kids are all finally old enough to enjoy the shows too( not talking comedy show but rather the big show in the main theater)Hate to trade off one for the other but it is what it is. We do the late dinner so me,wife and three kids all have time to get ready after we get back on ship after a day at beach or whatever. Three women using the bathroom in our room takes a while lol.
-
The big shows in the main theater. I am sure I can post them in a few days.
-
We like to eat with our group at the late dinner time and love getting to know our waitstaff. Really hate missing the dining room. I hope they have an early show so we can do both.
-
Last August and last February they only had big shows a couple of nights and a couple lesser shows another two nights. And only one showing of each. I have the Funtimes from both cruises yet.

I was on the Magic in February 2017 and the dinner times and show times did not gel. They only did one big show a night and it was between early and late dining so you had to skip the main dining room to see the shows. And only a couple of nights had big productions. Was on the Sunshine the cruise before this one and they had two showings each night that fit early and late dining. Booked on the Magic again in January of 2018. Was hoping to hear they got the shows and dinner working together now. Thanks!

Yes, very good news to wake up to!
-
They are knocking out Costa Maya? I got a call from my mom saying the ship went to Miami because of a sick passenger.
-
We have stops in Amber Cove, San Juan, Grand Turk and St. Thomas.
Well that ends that theory. Just did those stops in January. Amber Cove is beautiful.
-
Where do you find which ships/sailings have changed their schedule?
I would like this info too.

I am wondering if everyone that is not have excursions showing up are going to be stopping at Cozumel? They are adding excursions for Cozumel and maybe they at waiting to have that set up before they add excursions? The last four we went on had excursions listed way ahead of time.
From what I hear the FTTF's are put on sale depending on how many diamond and platinum members are going to be on the ship.
Thinking if Royal Princess Jan. 2019. Bringing three kids.

Oh, I get it! We always sail the end of January and Carnival always has a ton of kids aboard. Worry though about being the only kids.
