  1. We have had a cove balcony on the Dream and loved it.  We booked another one on our Feb Magic cruise.  We have been the first Cove Balcony forward and only had spray in rough water one night/day.

Normally it is not a problem.  We loved being close to the water.  We saw flying fish and dolphins.  I will book a cove balcony every time if they are available.

  2. We are sailing with you on the Valor Oct 7 also.  We are Diamond with 28 cruises under our belts.  The valor is one of few ships we have not sailed on.  My wife and I are looking forward to taking our grandchildren (two boys) with us.  I noticed the Valor has a fish and chips place on the second level of the buffet area.  It is free, unlike the seafood shack on other ships.

I agree with the other poster the Carnival Hub is a nice tool.  You can use it without paying for an internet plan.  However the $5 chat feature is a good way to find you partner if you go to different locations.  It also has the daily dinner menu, a deck by deck layout of the ship and other things.  Download it before getting on the ship and when onboard click the "I on board button".  Have a good cruise.

  3. We are diamond and friends are platinum cruisers.  How early can we board the Magic in Feb.  We are staying about 30 min away and parking at the port.

Also do you drop off luggage first and then park.  We have not cruised out of this Fort Lauderdale in a long time.

  5. I originally booked this cruise for my wife and two grandsons, Ages 9 and 10.  We booked a OV cabin for four.  Later their parents decided to go also.

I was able to get the ajoining cabin for them.  Their cabin is fitted for two passengers ours is for four.

My question is:  Will Carnival let us trade cabins so the boys can sleep in the cabin with their parents?

For my cabana rentals, we chose our actual cabana at the Shore Excursion Desk.

Yes, you must go to shore excursion to reserve the cabana.  The low numbers (1-6) are close to the beach bar and activities, the higher numbers (7-? don't remember how many there are) are farther down the beach and quieter.  We prefer number 9 or 10.  They usually drive you to the cabanas farther down on the beach.  So go to the excursions desk as soon as you board to get the one you want.  Also do a search for a map of the cabanas to check out the location.

  7. My wife and I are Diamond.  We are sailing out of New Orleans in Oct.  We are sailing with my two grand kids (in our room) and their parents in another room.  Will they will able board with us or will they have to get a boarding time and wait.

  8. I asked this question on the pork of call thread and got no response, so I will try here.

We are going on a 7 day cruises (b2b). How does parking at the port work. When we pay at the entrance and pay for the first 7 day cruise, what happens when we don’t return and leave the car for another 7 days? Does anyone have info?

Also if I may ask further, the luggage tags, they say you can print them- if it's raining wont they get ruined, just being a flimsy piece of paper? Or can you have them mailed? Or do you put them in something? Its been a really log time since I travelled anywhere with checked luggage.

Also if you didnt see in my followup, I reserved a hotel for my husband and I, so we wont have to park at the terminal. Also, my kids are grown and we don't have any kids together, so its just us. Hoping it will be somewhat of a romantic getaway

I thought I would help you on two of your questions.

Luggage tags- you can do use clear packing tape and cover them so they will not get wet after you print them. They will not mail you tags, it's up to you to print them.

Mobile hotels- several of the hotels offer a cruise and park rate with shuttle to the port. Two downtown that I know about are the Holiday Inn and Renaissance Mobile River Plaza Hotel.

  10. We used the deli almost everyday. It sometimes had a long line, but was worth it. We also loved the Cuban sandwiches by the Havana bar. No line they are under a heat lamp on the left side of the bar as you walk in. Not many people knew about this. We loved the Sunshine. We did an 8 day and 5 day back to back in Jan.

  11. I disagree with the last post. We just got off a 13 day b2b on the Sunshine. We loved it. The only place I felt crowded was when you first walk it to the buffet area. It is a tight passage way.

It depends on what you like. The Conquest have better pools and hot tubes but the Sunshine has the best Serenity Area in the fleet. We have sailed on both ships. The layout of the Conquest is better but the food on the Sunshine in better.

It would be a toss up. Sailing out of Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale) was easier that Port Carnival (Orlando). The port in Orlando is a 45 minute drive where Port Everglades is in Ft. Lauderdale.

  12. I know Mobile is in the Central Time Zone. When the Fantasy cruises of of Mobile does the ship stay of Central time?

Some of the islands are on Eastern time and Atlantic time. The difference will affect my non carnival excursions.

Please advise it you have information on this.

  13. I don't have my iPad with me at the moment. I also haven't tried to download the app on my iPad. Have you tried switching the search to iPhone only?

I have it on my I phone. How do you get it on I pad if the search doesn't list it. I do not know how to search on the I pad for I phone apps only. Please advise.
