This link shows the port load for each port. I always find it interesting.

I have been told that children under 3 don't get a medallion. How does this work for getting on and off the ship? Also, we figured whichever adult was with the child could have his medallion to get into his room for his things. Does anyone who has traveled with young ones have any insight? Thanks!

Someone posted the webcam image confirming port side was indeed facing the harbor. The same was true when I was on this same itinerary 2 weeks ago, but I've been stalking it for a while and I can say that when they visited ~3.5 weeks ago based on the same webcam they backed in and starboard was facing the harbor. No idea what drives that decision.
Seems like 90% of the time it's done like this with port side facing harbor. St. Thomas and Port Everglades are similar in this way. I think it's how I got in the habit of snagging port side rooms. On two occasions on debarkation day the captain has decided to pull in the other way in port everglades and I've woken up to the terminal outside my balcony, but seems like 9 times out of 10 they back in and you're facing the water.

I have the best luck with the Duck Duck Go browser. https://duckduckgo.com/
I agree that Princess needs to get this fixed because it has been very frustrating.

Nope….Monday 4/8 and Thursday 4/11. Was there another patter calling out dress to impress or formal? If so, I’m confused and don’t know the answer to your question lol
Confusing since I have never seen this on my other Princess cruises.

I feel pretty safe saying these are the same thing. I feel like DTI is the newest term used by Princess but plenty of people still use the original “formal” terminology. I feel like this will take a long time to catch on, and probably never for many people.
So there are 3 formal nights on this 7 day cruise?

We just use ship wifi. On airplane mode if texting iPhone to iPhone you just text as normal. Since I have an Android I use Messenger or Signal to keep in touch with my family back home. In the port I have free texting and data with TMobile.

It takes about 10 days. 7 days to get from Asia to USA and then you will be able to follow US tracking.
Just for fun I put the tracking number in 4PX tracking and this is what is says. 6 days from China to LAX and then the USPS will take over after customs. I used USPS informed delivery to see it was being picked up at 4PX.

My cruise is Feb 4 and I got notified that the medallion was shipping from China on Jan 12th. It took 7 days to get to the US and then 3 days to get to me from LAX.

On the Ruby last year we checked our luggage in the dining room below the lunch one. Princess kept it there until we got into our room.

I am feeling much better seeing the responses. Most people posting today were on in 10 - 20 minutes. Last year when we boarded the Ruby a car crash had knocked out power to the port. It was a disaster and so frustrating. I know not the norm but my only experience since pre-covid.

We sail on the Regal this Sunday and got the 'emergency notification' email about the change in departure time on 9/13/23. The official cause was 'operational reasons' which is vague, but it seems to be due to port congestion in general this season in Galveston. That makes a quick turnaround day for the crew, but I'm happy to be on our way as soon as possible 🙂
I look forward to hearing about your experience on this cruise.

As early as you like up to 2:00pm. Is 3pm the actual sailing time or is it the end of check-in? If the latter, sail time will be more like 4pm. They will open doors more like 10am and could begin boarding by about 11am. For certain, they will begin check-in process well before 12pm. Same everywhere.
Thanks. Everyone is talking about the long lines and that stresses me out. 3pm is the actual sailing time. We got an emergency notification for change of itinerary. Don't know if it has to do with Mardi Gras or not.

On my travel summary, I noticed it says Your ship begins boarding at 12:00 PM on Feb 04 and sets sail at 03:00 PM on Feb 04.
Does anyone have any recent experience in Galveston? I have heard about the lines outside and wanted to know a good time to arrive at the port.

Was on the Ruby Princess a month ago and the Pub Lunch was served in the MDR. It was the longest line for the dining room on the entire cruise.

It also has to do with what the people want. I don't want to cruise on a floating amusement park. Also, how is NCL so high?

Thank you for sharing. We are getting on the Summit this Sunday.

Thank you. That makes sense.
