Newbie here….I have ANZ card with complimentary travel insurance.
I know that Covid is covered.
Wondering if you get confined in your room on a cruise for say 5 days, anyone knows whether there is any compensation from ANZ Allianz travel insurance?
thanks

Hi,
Going 1st time on celebrity… we are Elite reciprocal from Caribbean…
Understand that I can use complimentary 90mins first.
If I purchase an internet package say after day 4 with 7 days to go.Do I still get 30% discount?
Is there still a package available on board after a few days after departure?
Is the package price per days left?
anyone knows price per day?
thanks

I would have thought that a SJS J4 is “better” than a J3?? What config does the J3 have please bathroom wise!?
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
For me too, I consider SJS (J4) to be better that a J3.
J3 is bigger in total size, much larger balcony, some prefer that.
I guess that’s why it is priced higher.
I have been in an SJS but not a J3.
J3 has 1 full bathroom vs J4 separate toilet, shower & bath in bathroom.

I thought that J3 was a higher level than J4?

Yes correct. From the prices I have seen, J4 price is lower than J3. J3 total stateroom size is a tad bigger than J4.

Ovation SJS is listed as category J4. “Standard” JS is category J3. Royal just trying to confuse us after the renaming some time last year....

We are trying to decide to fly from Australia May to Honolulu Cruise Radiance via Hawaii to Vancouver, then 7 night Alaska cruise and fly back to Australia. Or to fly to Vancouver do Alaska cruise first, then cruise from Vancouver to Honolulu and fly back to Australia September. Decisions, Decisions??
I am not sure if USA rules allow that. See similar question on this thread. I know it is for Ovation of the Seas. Might worth asking on Royal Caribbean group as there are many experts there.

Thread from Kiwi Kruzer’s is still valid. Last year, during Ovation stop in Outer Harbour, had to take train to city to pick up car hire. If I remember correctly, 1st train was either 7:30 or 08:00am. Takes about 45mins. Plenty of car hire choices in Adelaide city.

Here is a view from room 6636.
Also watch for what’s underneath your room. Under 6636 is Jamie’s Oliver restaurant. Cleaning in the middle of the night.

Radiance of the Seas is also in the area.
See post here, near the end. Hilo skipped.

It is very unfortunate that Korea migration has not improved for years now.... the same thing happened in the inaugural Ovation cruise from Singapore to Tianjin almost 2 years ago.... ship docked around 6-7am... could not get off the ship until around midday!!!

Have booked a Guarantee Balcony (Category X-GTY) before.... not sure of Guarantee Large Balcony?
The bad part of Guarantee Balcony is that got assigned a partially obstructed balcony on level 6...for us that wasn’t the issue.... noise from under stateroom at night/ early morning.... seems like cleaning from Jamie Oliver’s restaurant....

Radiance is at Circular Quay.
Glad that the issue is fixed for the TP!!!

Did 14 night NZ on Ovation and no problem with using credit card to pay for excursions at port. Only Dunedin port, cruise terminal is far from city centre. Option is pay cruise shuttle ( I think it was $25 USD) or take local bus ( NZ cash only), no foreign exchange at port.

Can’t help with best obstructed one... rooms to avoid if possible. Level 6 - room 6286
Issue was not the obstruction but room just above some restaurant (Jamie) and cleaning very early morning!!!!
Avoid all rooms around there...

One option is to look at Air2Sea (linked to royal Caribbean/Celebrity cruises).
http://www.royalcaribbeanchoiceair.com/
I am looking at it for 1-way fare AUS-US. About 50% of return fare.
US cruise critic members have used them and they said good prices for international fares.
Not sure if it is good for your route though?

Talked to some of the crew operating North Star on why we seem to get a shorten version compared to previous years (went up and very small turn may be 10degrees turn at most).
They said that in Asia, you get the full turn (180, turn both sides) as it is paid...
Imho, not worth paying... difficult to take good pictures... reflection...

My experience with Coastal on Ovation for JS:
- Cannot book online or via Royal IQ app
- Priority is given to Star class. Genie gives the list of Star guests the night before or the morning. JS guests may find availability only on the same day.
- Be flexible. Some hours may be busy and JS guests may not be accommodated.
- Overall, was able to eat in Coastal for dinner almost every night. The only times we did not go because we needed to try something different.
- Most time ate around 7:30-8pm
- 7 different menus, on 14 days cruise, menu repeats on day 8
- looking at the menus posted, a bit of difference on Ovation compared to Anthem/Oasis. Too bad forgot to take pictures!!!

Thanks for the review. For Premier package, which Casual Dining venues are allowed? Crab Shack not allowed as Casual dining? Seems like no venue open for Casual Dining lunch time?
