  1. I’m booked on the TA and have been offered a paltry $201 OBC and the same in FCC. I don’t consider this a fair amount considering the disruption to the trip. One port day instead of 4 is very disappointing.

I’ve also lost out on hotel fees in Southampton as the room was only refundable up to 14 days prior to the reservation.

Does anyone have the email address or phone number to contact RCI please? The UK numbers are direct to an offshore office.

    Thanks

  2. Hi

We are sailing on Navigator on 28 Oct. Does anyone know if passengers still dress up for formal nights? Every other Cruise we have done has been dinner suits etc., but my sister recently returned from Celebrity Millenium and said absolutely no one got dressed up, even on the formal night. The most was a smattering of shirts and ties...not even a sports jacket in sight! It seems Celebrity don't 'do' formal anymore.

Anyone know if Navigator is the same, or how I can find out? Don't want to take stuff I won't use...although it's a shame if that is the case, we loved an excuse to dress up!

    Cheers

Hi. We'll be on this cruise with you and we are bringing our formal outfits. It's the only chance we get to dress up!

  3. What did you do in St. Croix, Antigua and St. Lucia? Starting to plan my March excursions; great to hear other's experiences in port!

Hi. There is a nice beach within walking distance of the ship at St Croix or you can get a taxi to Rainbow Beach for $6 round trip. There's water sports available there but loungers and umbrellas were a bit pricey.

We just walked around in Antigua but got fed up with being bombarded with taxi drivers offering tours etc. There's some nice shops by the port which are quite cheap.

I can recommend the Whale watching trip in St Lucia. We booked on the ship but it's popular and sells out quickly! We were fortunate to see several Pilot Whales, False Killer Whales and loads of Dolphins. The flying fish were an added bonus.

Have a great time on this wonderful ship:)

  4. I also got fed up with the Customer Service on the UK numbers and have now booked three cruises through a very popular US Travel Company. The prices were substantially cheaper that those in the UK and you can avoid bank currency conversion charges by getting a Prepaid $ Visa or MasterCard.

The phone calls to the US agent is free and I have found them to be exceptionally helpful. You may even get some OBC thrown in too.:D

I have booked one of next years in the UK though as we got a really good deal inc drinks and grats and the US site was only marginally cheaper without the drinks etc.:D:D:D

  5. WOW!!! Just looked at the Europe pricing for Explorer cruises from Southampton, these are massively higher than the initial TA flyer we received back in Feb. when they were still showing Adventure doing these cruises.

For example the 3rd June 14nt Med cruise now starts at £1998 for an inside but the advert I have for Adventure starts at £999 for an inside, now that's what I call inflation!!!:mad::mad:

That price is for two people. RCI have messed with the website and all of the prices seem to be for two now. Hope that helps:)

  6. We saw this demo on the Jewel in 2008 whilst on a Baltic cruise. I can't remember the name of the Cruise Director but it was the funniest thing I have seen on a cruise:D

The lady participating was given shots to drink while the chef and the CD were drinking "water" shots. The cake was delicious. I've often wished they would do this again.

Can anyone help with the name of the Cruise Director? It was a 12 night Baltic from Harwich, June 2008.

    Thanks

    Gill:)
