What type of cabin do you have? We were on Royal Princess last Aug in a standard balcony room. Two upper berths were pulled down from the ceiling by our steward every night. He put it back in the morning. They were the same size as the beds down. The configuration may be different, depending on the cabin type. But I believe the bed size should be the same. Hope your son likes it :-).

Dave, just to echo many sentiments already expressed here, I'm sure you will enjoy your experience on this beautiful ship and even find something new (I know it's hard to believe!) :-). Thanks again for making my journey with Royal Princess to start long before I stepped on her in August! You and many other folks in CC are incredibly generous and kind.

We were on the same ship as Ron. We used Princess's water shuttle boat to get to Toulon which costed us $15 per person.

You mentioned in your review that you had 4 people on your deck sitting drinking wine, did the room steward bring you extra chairs for the deck?

Just like Pia said, we moved the two chairs from the cabin and put them on the balcony together with the deck chairs to make four. It worked well for us :).
