  1.  My husband and I have been on over 40 cruises during the last 36 years.  We used to do one week cruises but many years ago decided it’s too short. We now enjoy 12 to 14 day cruises with port intensive itineraries. We are both 66 years old and considering our first transatlantic repositioning cruise. In need of some info or opinion.  Presently looking at Oceania Riviera 16 night Rome to Miami. Wondering if we will get “cabin fever” or go stir crazy! It sounds exciting and daunting at the same time.  We have sailed on Riviera twice and enjoy it. Do they provide extra entertainment/shows/events on all of the sea days?  Normally on cruises we are active and enjoy swimming and snorkeling the most. But also enjoy socializing and meeting new fun people.  Would like to get feedback from anyone who has done this as we contemplate a cruise like this.  The price of course is excellent. Thanks in advance for advise!

  2. Haved sailed Riviera several times but this will be our first time not traveling with friends. As we do like to meet new people and would prefer not to sit at table for two we have requested shared table for our specialty dining reservations. Will also ask to do the same in MDR. My questions are:

Are the shared tables for 4,6 or 8 people?

Does Maître d’ attempt to seat passengers according to age group etc?

    Any advice in advance?

    Thanks.

  3. Sorry to hear this! We have cruised Regent many times but never the Explorer. Will be on her next week. Sooooo disappointed to hear of bright lighting in Compass Rose. This will totally ruin it for me. Why the main dining room would not dim their lights is beyond me. Only thing I can figure is possibly that the number of geriatrics with poor eyesight was the catalyst.

Is there an area in CR that perhaps isn’t as bright ? If so it will be our ‘go to’ spot!

  4. :confused:can someone please send me the link for the list of particular cabins and the pro-con? I've seen this before on the site and cannot find it now. Looking particularly for Regent seven seas cruise explorer concierge suites.

I know someone was kind enough to put together a fairly good listing but I'm on able to locate that right now.

    Thanks in advance,

  5. We have been very disappointed when several of our AZ excursions were cancelled due to low numbers. This used to happen on Regent years ago but since they changed to no charge for excursions ( all inclusive) that doesn't happen any more.

Would love to see prebooked excursions guaranteed unless increment weather prohibits.

  6. We had reserved and put deposit ( many months ago)on a N1 suite ( large cabin) for the Jan. 2016 Caribbean sailing. I recieved a call from my TA last week saying...

    1. My cabin was no longer available did to the fact it would be under refurbishment.

    2. There are no other large cabins available on my sailing.

I would be given a 2$K reduction and would need to move to a 175sq ft. Cabin

I am livid....was planning on sailing with friends who have booked with me.Their cabins are not under refurbishment and all is ok with their bookings.

I am shocked that this has happened as thought all was protected.

Was told they could do nothing for us..

Just wondering....does this happen often? I am now searching for other possibilities but very upset! I was told 'there is nothing the cruise line can do.

  7. Only wondering if they charge for food . Is it possible to order items not listed on room service menu? That is what 'service' is really about on cruise....not talking about a 3 course meal... Just maybe a different type of sandwich or snack not listed.....

  8. Will be first O cruise. Have only been on regent and seabourne for past 5 years.

Is there a fee for room service in concierge level cabin? We always tip but wondering if they add fee or gratuity when delivering to cabin. Also, how are wait times?
