  1. We are booked on the Apex, Sunset Veranda #9308. It can be connected to the Sky Suite next door. I think the "connection" is a private door from the hallway that goes to both 9308 and the Sky Suite. They each have their own doors that could be left open.

The other way would be that each cabin has a door in each room that can be opened or locked (I would not prefer this option).

Does anyone know this answer? It doesn't have to be cabin 9308, all sky verandas adjacent to the sky suites all have a "connection".

  2.  I think I am correct that the US government is requiring passengers from overseas to have a negative Covid test within 72 hours of their flight that is returning to the US. How would you do that if, for example, you were on a Celebrity cruise ship and doing their daily excursions in foreign countries. This basically eliminates international cruise ship voyages, right?

  4. I hope what the head housekeeping officer (Paul) told "Calicakes" is accurate. If so, this is great news. I'm going to e mail Celebrity again to try and confirm this (new footstools, and possibly larger tables on order, will take 60 days). I too, have been e mailing them about this issue, sending pictures of shower stools, beach balls, etc.

We're sailing on the Equinox at the end of February, and hoping we have the new items, but I want a confirmation from Celebrity's Miami office.

  5. Am considering the QM2 for a cruise, but am concerned about the term "sheltered balcony" cabins. Are the balcony's really small, and what does "sheltered" mean? Can you still sit outside and enyoy the view? Need help from cruisers who have stayed in these cabins.

  6. It looks like Celebrity dropped the Jamaican ports (Falmouth and Ocho Rios) and Labadee from the Spring, 2018 itineraries.

Does anyone have any insight as to why? There was a big corporate investment made at Falmouth as an example. I'm surprised. I assume Royal Caribbean still stops there. There were some issues with Labadee that have been discussed, but Jamaica?

  7. I'm surprised. Labadee was our favorite port on the Western itinerary. 2nd favorite was Grand Cayman, not so much for Falmouth and Cozumel. The beach at Columbus Cove was outstanding, the lunch prepared and served by the Celebrity staff was delicious, the shopping was interesting, and we took an excursion once to a sandbar in the bay that was totally relaxing. Very disappointed.

  8. A few weeks ago, cruise ships were diverted from Athens to other Med ports as a result of a strike by Piraeus port workers. Anyone know the current status of the strike and whether cruise ships are able to dock?

We disembarked yesterday at Athens (Jul 9, Celebrity Equinox), and it was very smooth, no problems at all. Bags were neatly placed inside the terminal building, adjacent to the numbers that corresponded with our luggage number that was assigned by the ship. Cabs were very plentiful, we waited about 2 minutes for a cab. I was a every apprehensive, but everything worked exceptionally well.

  9. Thanks very much. I had heard that Luminae will be on the 4th level (where we dine, as we have Celebrity Select Dining), but it looks like it is on the main level. I'd hate to look at various stages of construction as we are dining, but maybe it is done by now. I called Celebrity today, and they said the "first half" of Luminae is complete (Reflection), that suite passengers can dine there, and that the second half is under construction. This second half will extend into the galley, so they must be decreasing the size of the galley. Hope things go well on our cruise, we really liked Opus, and hope it is still elegant for non suite passengers.

  10. I'm curious, does anyone know the status of the "suite only" Luminae dining special section on the Reflection? Is there construction going on, or is it finished? How much space does it take up on the mezzanine level of the main dining room? We're leaving in three weeks, on the Reflection, and would like to know the details of this special dining area.

Not sure I like the idea.

  11. We need to get from the Venice Cruise Terminal to the Marriott Courtyard at the Marco Polo airport. Need help. Are there cabs directly at the cruise terminals? Are the lines really long to get a cab? Or, does one have to get to Piazzale Roma somehow to get a cab? I know there is a people mover, but this could be jammed also, with 3000 people getting off the ship. Need help, thanks.
