  1. We definitely would cruise with Princess again.  The whole cruise experience will be different regardless of what line you choose.  We are waiting to see how it plays out but really are anxious to get out to sea again.  We had a transAtlantic cancelled on Enchanted Princess in early Nov... hope to do that next year but things are very up in the air in Spain... will wait and see.  But yes we would cruise with Princess..

  2. We prefer Princess, but would sail Celebrity again.  The storage areas in the cabins on Princess are much better.. Celebrity had enclosed shelves over thread of the bed, which was inconvenient at best.  We liked the dining and entertainment options on Princess, and on long cruises the ease of using a nearby laundry area is very handy.  We also felt like we could find some bar/lounge areas that did not have the musicians  broadcast in speakers every few yards making it much easier to actually visit with someone.  Each to his own, we have also cruised on Royal Caribbean and once on Carnival.  Princess is just a more comfortable fit for us.

  3. I have been happy with the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, my husband has a Chase Business Ink Preferred, they work well and do have travel insurance benefits ..much more robust that just my Chase freedom unlimited...both are great for accumulating those Chase Ultimate Reward points.

Yes you can, on the web site is a form which allows you to order the water and a cord, it’s under special services. All you need is reservation number, ship and date. If something gets screwed up just ask the steward.

Also  don’t be surprised when you get there if the items are not in the room. They usually do these requests while during dinner time

I can not find the special service request area...new to celebrity and their site is a tad confusing to me.  Can you show the link?  Thank you

  5. We will be taking our first Celebrity Cruise have done Princess and RCL many times.  This internet thing has me confused.  We got a 10% off offer in an email for internet - but it was only for unlimited packages for the whole cruise.  We are new so have no Captain's Club status, except preview.  We do need some internet but not a lot, say about 2 hours the entire cruise as we will be in ports like Key West and then 2 Mexican ports and we have T-Mobile.  So..what is the advice??  Wait until we get on the ship and just buy a one day on a sea day?  I do wish they sold packages by the minute as Princess does, that has worked out really well for us in the past.  We will not be streaming movies etc.. just checking emails and messages and responding to those.  Thanks in advance to all of you experienced Celebrity folks for any advice!

  6. I am new to celebrity and got a move up offer... came through the TA however.  We decided against it as we could not chose room location by position of deck.. lots to learn when you try a new line.  Have done 10+ cruises but this will be my first on Celebrity.

  7. Then how do you explain that nearly every other mass market cruise line has theaters large enough to accommodate passengers who want to go to shows. It seems to me that lines such as Celebrity, Cunard, HAL, RCI, MSC, etc etc have all solved the engineering issues :). The key is to simply build multi-story seating areas (most ships have large balcony areas). Princess prefers to cram in more cabins over their theaters rather than dedicate that space to enlarging the theater.

We were recently on RCI, Harmony of the Seas...their shows required a free reservation...which was valid up until 15 minutes before the show, at which point anyone could enter if there was space. The venues were usually jammed...especially for their larger production shows. Even with the repeat of the shows over different days.. it was an issue. So I think RCI has the same issue.. I do however think the reservation system makes it much smoother. A month before this last cruise we were on the Royal.. and it did require you to get there at a minimum of 30 minutes early.. with a larger group you would have had to be there even earlier. That does seem to take up a lot of time to just sit and wait.

  8. We recently did one on Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas and really enjoyed it. There were 4 of us and put into a total of 10 to solve the puzzles. We had a great group...I think the people combination could change your experience of it. We would recommend it. Puzzle Break were the people who developed the game we were on. If it is on the Ruby, I would definitely try it on the next cruise we take on her. The things you have to solve can be challenging and you do have to work as a team. If you have never done one before (we had not) it might take a bit to get the hang of it, and you are limited time wise.. I think we had either 45 or 60 minutes. Kosmos makes some home games.. you might want to try one of their easier ones at home to see if you like it. We did that AFTER the cruise and had fun as a group doing that as well. It is something that many will enjoy and some will just not "get it".

  9. Sailed ten days on the Royal in April... the lack of a promenade deck really was something we missed. We knew it going in, but missed it even more than we thought. The running/walking track is too hot, no shade and very windy being so high up. We might try the Regal as I think they have done something to help with this by connecting the bits of outdoor deck areas. As to using the fitness center.. not the same thing at all. We won't say we would never sail on the Royal again.. but we will certainly hesitate and probably try to avoid it.

  10. I can't seem to post my pictures.. but it was in Wonderland, and very good. If you are only going to do one speciality restaurant I would definitely recommend Wonderland. The food is delicious, the presentation is so fun and different. There are many things to try. One of the many small bites is a dish called shrimp Kataifi, absolutely one of the best I have had. I have pictures.. but again they are just in my iPhoto and I can't figure out how to post them.

  11. Just did this. We walked to left? I believe all the way to the little pier thing.. snorkeling off the beach there was really good. very easy to do and I was amazed and the number and variety of fish we saw right at the end of the pier thing. It was very comfortable and the water was probably never more than 10 feet deep, although it looked like about 2 feet as it was so clear. We did wear snorkel vests (which you are asked to do) rented at the little stand there. I felt very safe and comfortable and am not a strong swimmer and also am no longer young :-) I really enjoyed it and would do it again. This spot was recommended to us by one of the workers in the info area.

  12. We were on the Ruby for a 10 day two years ago, the Mexican Coast...a long sleeve shirt and a tie were more than adequate. It does vary a bit by itinerary and length of ship, just off the Royal for a 10 day southern Caribbean, again a long sleeve shirt and tie were fine, but there were a few older folks dressed up for the "prom".. off the shoulder, glittery gowns etc.. but each to their own. I don't think there is as much friction over this issue as there used to be. Dressing up too much and needing all the attendant items, such as the special shoes and jackets just doesn't do it for folks traveling by plane. A bit of an effort is nice.. but doesn't need to be overdone.
