I think it's currently a 13 day cruise (Friday -> Thursday), but yeah I'd be alright if it gets extended by a day or 2 as well. No reason for the captain to push the ship if there is a problem. :)

One of the things that is done to the water, is because distilled water is slightly acidic, and can corrode piping, or attract minerals from the body. To counteract this, the water is sent through a filter chamber filled with calcium carbonate (same antacid ingredient in Tums). When the carbonate is refilled, it needs to be flushed for a while to remove the silt from crushed granules. If they didn't flush this "rehardening filter" sufficiently, this could have resulted in the taste you experienced.

i have never had any problems with the water in in the public parts of the ship but i have had the water come out green in the cabin sink. I also had my cloths come back from the laundry with brown stains, (on a different ship), but the ship was having problems and they fixed the cloths.

Went on the Dream 9/2014 and again last week.

 

Camp Ocean is the only change.

 

(And that internet package which we didn't use).

 

(For that matter there was no difference between camp ocean and camp carnival as far as me or my 8 year old could tell. Exact same schedule and meals and everything)

 

Other than that, everything is exactly the same.

 

No smoking on the balconies but of course that is fleet wide...

 

No bringing in bottle beverages but again, that is fleet wide.

do you know what the free gift is at the moment on the dream ie have they switched over to the duffle bag :)

My cousin just got off the Dream today, and I inquired about the food also, since I read some negative reviews on CC. They said the food was fine. Lido included. The wife and I will be on the Jan 3 cruise out of NO.

Very well stated and I totally agree!! My feeling is that the free delivery items will disappear soon or will get a charge added due to the attitude of many that "We don't care if it makes our cruise cheaper".

 

Personally, I am not seeing Carnival as being the mega cheap they were the past couple of years.

 

Our last 4 cruises were on Princess and they cost LESS than anything closely related on Carnival.

Apart from the stormy weather on the Breeze in the Med prior to the TA as others have mentioned, we had a bad storm trying to get to Barcelona on the Dream. That was when it was sailing out of Civitavecchia. Barcelona was missed and we overnighted in Monaco (which was magical).

 

As someone mentioned take medication the night before you travel and every night after that and you should be fine.

hi i have seen threads were people have said the reserved tables for anytime how do you go about this and can it be done before sailing:confused:

I have put together the roll call for a cruise in Feb. Those who want to join in, OK. Slot pull in the afternoon? Those who want to join OK. Tour on Grenada? Those who want to join? OK

 

A cruse is for each individual. Join in something or not? OK

 

Something that you don't like or want to join? OK

 

Table for 2 or a group of 8? OK

 

Just go with the roll and flow of the ship for your own experience. No need to talk down or flame anyone for their opinion. It their cruise also.

 

Just relax and enjoy your time aboard. No big deal. ;)
