  1. I’m more of a reader than a writer on CC, which got me wondering how one of the AZ contributors rates the food on cruise lines.

Their posting #60 on the thread below indicates a bit of a foodie in our midst!

  2. I have a cruise booked with Azamara for May 2021, and I appreciate things may change over the next few months.

I am not sure of the guidelines within the USA  where the majority of Azamara regulations stem from, however advice and opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Within the UK I fall in the category of 'shielded' where I have for the past 70 days and until the 7th July I must isolate myself (there are regional variations within the UK).

Because of my medical condition I will not be cruising until there is a vaccine for COVID 19. Does Lift and Shift reach as far as May 2021 and beyond? What will my options be to rebook towards the end of 2021 or for 2022?

  3. They can dine in Luminae with you. However there is a fee for this. The fees per person per meal are I believe (Don't worry, I'll be corrected very quickly if things have changed) :-

    Breakfast $10

    Lunch $20

    Dinner $30

The other consideration to note is that this is only on a space availability basis and so cannot be guaranteed.

    Thank you Mynki

  4. We are looking to book a cruise for Summer 2018 on Constellation. The suite we are looking at 6138 (or 6137) with the door connecting to the Concierge class room 6136.

Ideally the children would be in 6136 and have full access to our suite.

Would this booking entitle the children to dine with us in Luminae?

They are aged 13 and 16

  5. Thank you for all your replies.

Alas, at the eleventh hour our friends booked a b2b on Oasis of the seas instead of joining us on Eclipse.

The fact that the package couldn't be split had no bearing on their decision.

I'm quite happy to see the discussion on FSOJ continue

  6. Friends are about to book their first Celebrity cruise ( I appreciate the promotion may be about to change) and they have a question on 123 Go.

One of the couple is teetotal, and sees no benefit in the Classic Drinks Package.

Can they split the promotion? Can one take Classic Drinks & grats, and the other take 50% of the OBC and grats?

  7. Whilst on Journey during November we were told on good authority that the two remaining R ships under the the control of the Carnival group (Princess and P&O)would not be considered for purchase.

This was because, effectively "they burn dirty diesel" which restricts the destinations the ships can visit, which effectively defeats Destination Immersion

  8. Dear Larry,

Thanks for your reply and that is indeed my understanding of "normal" room service" BUT that is NOT what you offer on Page 83 of UK 2014 destination guide and I quote exactly.

"You'll also enjoy 24-hour white linen room service from Azamaras restaurant menus."

This does not state room service although for other categories it does state room service menus.

I know it is a small issue but you should not put in black and white what you cannot offer.

We have also discovered that whilst speciality restaurant dining is complimentary it is quite possible that it is NOT always available to suite guests even as it is now "first booked first served" though it states "reservations are recommended" not compulsory.

Thankfully Larry has clarified this for all our sakes.

Proctor, I suggest this was nothing more than a printing error, and considering the 2014 Destination guide was printed some considerable time ago it is too late to remedy.

As a printing error, it can probably be deemed a human mistake, which leads me to one of my favourite mottos

'The man who never made a mistake never made anything'

  9. Floris, to be called a liar is clearly unacceptable.

If I were in your position I would certainly raise a complaint regarding your treatment.

Azamara needs to know that their agents are still not up to the job.

Furthermore, in spite of your cruises being cancelled, you deserve an official apology at the very least and certainly a refund of your telephone costs.

In the UK calls to Guatemala are charged at a premium rate.

Maybe you should also raise this incident with the future cruise rep on your next cruise?

    Enjoy your upcoming cruise :)

Glenndale, I think read on CC a few weeks a free phone number for Azamara from the UK. It is 08000182020

I have spoken to Guatemala a few time mainly about flights for our forthcoming cruise and they are a nightmare. This will be the first I've ever let any cruise line arrange my flights, and it will be the last.
