What a treasure trove! I loved your videos of both Tasmania and also of the Blue Mountains. I am going to share the links with others on our board. The New Zealand/ Australia trip was born the last night of a reunion cruise on the Oasis of the Seas last April when several of us who had met through Cruise Critic a number of years ago on a Med cruise and have cruised together several times since began talking about where to go next. One couple, totally on their own, had booked the January 29 New Zealand cruise on the Radiance of the Seas and described the itinerary. The next thing we knew a group cruise had been formed and even more than a year out we have already had more than 2650 posts and our group has grown to about 40. Your videos have made both places come to life for us.

  2. Ron was kind enough to visit the CC board for our April 21st, 2011 cruise on the Brilliance of the Seas to let us know of the videos he has made on Dubai and several of the other ports we will be visiting. His photo tour has created some real excitement about a cruise that still seems a long way off. Not only were the videos fascinating, but he also provided info to me about what to see in several of the ports we will be visiting. What a great service to provide for cruise friends from former cruises and for those of us who have not yet met Ron but would love to. This is what Cruise Critic is all about!

We will also be on the Radiance of the Seas in January 2012 for a B2B cruise to New Zealand (both islands), Australia (Sydney and Melbourne) and Tasmania. Have you made any videos of those destinations?

  3. Lori,

I responded to your email and twice the message has bounced back as undeliverable-fatal error. Is AOL perhaps screening unfamiliar names? Anyway, thanks for you kind offer and Word would be the format. Thanks again. No one cares about typos and form - we are all craving good information and personal experiences.

  4. Hi Lori,

My husband and I are also on the same cruise in August with Roy, Ron and Kathy who posted below. We have all been questioning whether dollars could be used for small items in most ports. It was very helpful for you to answer that for us. Your review was also helpful, and I would love to have your full journal. Please send it to LynnSchuttenberg@earthlink.net. I always keep a detailed journal when we travel as well. It often seems like a lot of work in the moment since I don't travel with a laptop and have to write everything out by hand. However, I find that I refer to them again and again after the trips, and each time they bring back wonderful memories. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

For any of the other readers of this thread who have a Baltic cruise planned sometime this summer, Roy Smith who posted below has created an incredible webiste devoted entirely to our Baltic Cruise. The site is loaded with information on where we dock in each port, things to do in London if one goes in early and even links to the ship's excursions. Hop over and take a look at it on the August 19 Jewel of the Seas thread.
