  1. Some great ideas.   I am thinking Hampton Court Palace one day and Cotswolds another day.   Maybe a quick tour of St. Paul’s Cathedral (my husband’s grandmother was related to Christopher Wren) and a show in the West End for our disembarkation day.   I just now booked the train to Waterloo.  I guess a taxi then to our hotel.  I am still worried about getting our luggage onto and out of the train.  But I am sure we will manage.  Thanks for the tips and I hope to see you onboard.

  2. We will be on this same cruise with you.    We are also in the Orlando area.   Taking the Brightline to Fort Lauderdale and staying two nights at The Riverside.  I am still trying to figure out the best way to get from Southampton (with luggage) to our hotel in London.   And still trying to decide what we want to do in London.  We've seen all the usual tourist spots,   I am thinking at least one day to the Cotswolds.  I better get working on this.

  3. Hi Mark --- we sure had a great time these past two weeks on Equinox, didn't we?. Met a lot of nice people, yourself and Shelley included. Now if I can just get my memory card to work (I have Venice and Istanbul photos on the errant card). One of the problem photos is a funny picture of Shelley dodging the police car in Istanbul.

We came straight home from Barcelona on Saturday, did massive amounts of laundry on Sunday and went back to work on Monday.

Loved this crew, this ship, this itinerary. Weather was even wonderful except for a brief thunderstorm on Friday.

Looking forward to planning another cruise soon.

    Best regards, Laura Z.

  4. I, too, would have politely but firmly complained to Guest Services about the smoking. However, I would not ask for nor would I expect any compensation, even if it took the cruise line several days to solve the problem. Smoking in non-smoking areas is not a problem unique to Celebrity or even unique to cruise lines. So good luck on patronizing other cruise lines and expecting a different experience. Your demands from Celebrity were overreaching and not appropriate.

  5. I wanted to surprise my husband for his 50th birthday in December, 2004 with a cruise he had been lusting about for several months -- Celebrity Xpedition to the Galapagos Islands. I kept telling him since we were already booked and paid for a Canada-New England cruise in September, I couldn't get more time off from work that soon. I finaggled some more time off, unbeknownest to my husband, and booked the last suite on the ship.

Our anniversary was a few months before his birthday and I was planning on springing the surprise over a wonderful, romantic dinner (making for an exciting anniversary and birthday). However, on the day of our anniversary, I was stuck in a trial and the jury did not return its verdict until after 11 pm. I never expected the trial to last that long. By the time I got home, he was already in bed. I woke him up, gave him the card and revealed the surprise --he was thrilled (sleepy but thrilled). And the cruise was absolutely wonderful.
