  1. Carnival put a lot of faith in the Calf. market and it bombed...big time. You can label the reason whatever you like (fire, swine flue, landslides, the drug lords in Mexico, the governor, whatever). Calf has a limited market of where to sail to. Of course it sails at a higher price, how many ships do 7 day cruises from the west coast compared to an over saturated Florida market.

BTW, it did fine when it came to New York....don't we have press on the east coast also? huh

  2. That's what Carnival does. It's ingrained into the DNA from its very first cruise.

That's exactly what I thought of. During a VIFP party I attended the cruise director shared a story about Carinval's first ever cruise and how the legacy of the Fun Ships was born. This story reinforces that tradition.

Thank you OP for sharing your unbiased first hand accounts. I've enjoyed your posts. Enjoy the rest of your vacation! Cheers!

  3. Can you say which is a better dinning bargain, between the chef's demonstration and dinning in the restaurant?

The cooking demonstration is free. If you're referring to the Chef's Table ($75 fee) you can view my full review on the Miracle here:

The restaurant is $35. These are two different experiences and I think both should be tried at least once at some point.

As a side note, here is a picture of the three steak and lobster options from the dining room paid menu, elegant night and the restaurant:

  4. Is there a MDR menu you can look at on embarkation day so you know which night to reserve so you don't miss something you want in the MDR or is the MDR menu available to look at for each night that same day? We are doing the 7 day Mex Riv. In January. I don't want to miss something I would really enjoy or want to try in the MDR

Please read my review about the Miracle. I have posted all current menus. However, the American Table menu may be introduced later this year so all these menu's could change. Enjoy your cruise!!!
