If the ship fits the old lock system that is the one they will use. Although cost is a consideration the most important is the amount of fresh water used in the transfer. The object of the canal agency by far is conservation of fresh water used in any transfer. We have done 7 full transfers over the years and there is no 'bad way' to experience the panama canal. Enjoy.:D

Hi - Have a great trip. Question 1 answer - Put your bags out the night before with the direct tags and you will see it next at your home airport. Question2 - sign up on the ship. Forms will be left in your stateroom prior to departure. If not, see the purser. Great way to handle luggage and only costs about $25 per bag.

Hi - Great job with the spread sheet. Just a comment. If you are a beer drinker they have buckets of beer, 5 for 4, at all times. Usually at the pool bar but available at most bars. Also they have two 1 hour happy hours, one in the late PM and another late night where all drinks are buy one and get the 2nd for $1. No limit. I buy my beer and put it in the room fridge. As others have said thank you for taking the time to do the spread sheet.

No - Happy hour. Two for one where the second drink only cost $1. Used to be 2nd was free but recently went up to $1. Available on most Princess ships.

Hi - The last time (Feb 2016) we were on the Caribbean Princess happy hour was held in Club Fusion Deck 7 aft. For those that have cruised her lately has it changed? Just a question out of curiosity waiting for the 10/22 New England cruise :-).

Make sure to see the penguins. There is one tour on the first (or maybe second port out of Valparaiso. You get on a 'work boat' to go to an island where the penguins are right there. Next, not to be missed, is Pioneer Point at the Falkland Islands. 2 hour trip to and from the boat in a four wheel vehicle and really worth it. We did this one on a private tour I arranged beforehand. By private I mean not a ships tour. Have a great cruise and smooth seas with a tailwind.

Hi - I would definitely request a wheel chair for boarding and disembarkation. We have the same situation and it makes things go smoothly for both us as well as the other passengers. Have a great cruise, we leave in 2 weeks.
