I wonder if Pina Colada, Margarita, Blue Hawaii are under $13? Where can I see a menu?

    Thank you!

We were on the Allure August 8.  Anything not on the drink menu we just asked if it was $13 or less for D+ drinks.  Pina Colada and chocolate martini are 2 of the ones included.  Also had the specialty frozen drink on CocaCay just not in the souvenir cup.

I don't know what ship you are in , but on the Oasis and above classes the suite lounge has sofa, beer and a selection of wine as well as water "cans" from approx 11am- 11pm. This is in addition to the happy hour cocktails

We are on the Allure in a suite and they no longer are giving the free drinks in Suite lounge 11-11 only during happy hours.

I asked the reason and concierge said new safety protocol and social distancing.

They have not charged for sodas during lunch in Coastal Kitchen.

On July 1st, I called Royal to cancel a September cruise because of the vaccine protocols.  I figure it was a good way to avoid a FCC.  The rep told me the cruise was cancelled and I would get a refund to my cc for anything paid and a FCC for the portion that was paid with a FCC.  Perfect, I could live with this since my FCC was from a cancelled sailing.  A week later I noticed the sailing is still showing in my upcoming sailings.  I called Royal again and the rep tells me that it will take time to process on the back end but the cruise is cancelled.  On Wednesday I notice the sailing is still in my upcoming sailings.  I call Royal for the third time.  The rep tell me September sailings are not included in the full refund list of sailings.  This option is only for cruises in July and August.  If I cancel it would be under CWC and I will receive a FCC for the full amount.  Does anyone know which is correct?  Are September sailings included or not?

I saw a PDF on another social media site with two columns (vaccinated passengers and non vaccinated passengers) and a list of all the venues on the ship.  There was a check mark indicating which was available for vaccinated passengers and which for non vaccinated passengers.  I tried to find the PDF on Royal's website but could not.  Does anyone have a copy to share?

  4. I would have to think twice about booking a GTY or Royal up bid again.  We received a connecting room on the ocean view balcony we received with our up bid.  This was on the Harmony so the connecting door was across from the bathroom.  The couple next door talked very loud and you could hear almost everything they said.  Even could hear her hair dryer.  Not to mention an argument they had about spending money.

  5. 8588 has one of the smaller aft balconies, correct? Since it isn't on the corner...

Doesn't have the wrap around but we like it better. The cabin is one of two that are in center of aft. Balcony has two loungers and two chairs and small table. The aft junior suites are a little smaller than the side ones but more than makes up for it with the balcony.

    Have a great time!

  6. Some of the Junior Suites on the Grandeur have poles in the rooms. I think they are at the foot of the bed. I'm including the list below.

This is the list of the Junior Suites that have poles. I got this list while on the Grandeur from the future cruise desk.

Hope this helps you pick out a good cabin. Our favorite are the aft Junior Suites.

  7. Thanks! I can't ever remember not having a mini fridge in the room! I guess i've been spoiled by balcony cabins or newer ships! I don't remember much about our Grandeur trip in '97 except the wonderful friends we made whom we are still friends with today!

The balcony cabins and suites do have a mini fridge on the Grandeur.

  8. Washing hands thoroughly as you suggest is extremely important as the hand sanitizer they use on ship is typically Purell which most likely does very little for Norovirus on unwashed hands according to the internet refs.

My brief internet research showed that there ARE at least 3 hand sanitizers that DO KILL Norovirus. Maybe the cruise lines should also do the same quick research and find out if they are using effective or ineffective hand sanitizers. I now realize that before our next cruise I will invest a few bucks into these more effective sanitizers and use them instead of that sticky Purell junk the cruise lines are stuck on.

Here is a link for effective hand sanitizers for those interested:

Thanks for the information. I just ordered some from Amazon for our March cruise.

  9. We are looking at Grandeur of the Seas cabins 8083 (interior, port) and 8583 (interior, starboard). They are both Cat. L, far aft.

Does anyone know if these are vertical (you open the door and the bed is at the far end) or horizontal (you open the door in the middle of the cabin, and the bed is to your right. and the dresser and closet are to your left (or vice versa).

There is no indication on the deck plan as to where the cabin door is placed.

These two cabins are across from the suites at the far aft of the ship.

    Thanks in advance!

I'm can't be positive but I think they are horizontal. We usually have the outside cabins on the 8th floor and have glanced in the interiors when walking by and all I have seen are horizontal.

  10. I was checking out pics of Junior suites on Grandeur - and noticed some had a big pole right by the corner of the bed. Does anyone know how many of these there are on Grandeur or what cabin numbers have a pole - prefer not to have one. Thanks!!
