  1. We are boarding this weekend [emoji846] I’ve read a few reviews here and there but I’m not scared just yet [emoji6] we booked because we have a 2-year old and the amenities seemed like a good fit for a kid who loves to play with other kids, and for a mama for needs a balcony stateroom and lots of natural light. To find something like that on RC would have been double the cost (Oasis class or newer) and our preferred line, Celebrity, has nothing that compares. I’m hopeful that the expansive public spaces, panoramic elevators and things to see will enchant our little one. We sailed on Adventure of the Seas in the spring with him and we knew that we wanted a more robust toddler engagement area for him. They have limited drop-off hours for him on Seaside but that is better than none on RC and Celebrity for little ones. All of this to say that I am looking forward to chasing after our boy and soft serve ice cream without having to make beds and provide meals. But I totally appreciate the OP’s point of view as well — we are just vacationing differently (for now).

  2. My Husband surprised me with a Cruise on the Adventure of the Seas in May for him, myself and our almost 2 year old (at the time of the cruise). I am worried that there isn't a lot for her to do. Since she is not potty trained, she will not be allowed to swim in any of the pools. Does anyone know if she will be allowed in Splashaway Bay? TIA :)

Which date? We will have our 20-month old sailing on the 5th!

We are on the Reflection Nov. 28th and Dec 5th sailing. I am going to live blog from the ship and I'll be sure to take a quick video, so you can hear the music, every night at the martini bar (I'll keep it very short). There is also an app that allows you to measure decibels. I'll have some fun and will measure the music and what I believe to be the loudest point every night at the Martini Bar or in the atrium. I'll report back. Lets see what the results are.

    Happy Sailing!

We are on the December 12th sailing and we cannot wait! The last three months have been trying so we are looking forward to drowning out the noise of our daily lives -- even if it's with loud music. Looking forward to your review. We are in Europe the week before so we will be on a B2B vacation of a different kind!

  4. Tell me what you have done that have enhanced your past cruise experiences?

Was it a special hideaway...dining experience..entertainment, enrichment program?

We will be on the Silhouette in August.

    Thank you for your suggestions!

For us, using the luggage valet service, when available, has made the end of the cruise much smoother and more pleasant. I hope you have a super time!

  5. I think its a good way to use some onboard credit, the money I made at the Blackjack table, or a good way to pick up something to remember my cruise by that I might actually use again! One can only have so many watches, right??:) I don't have a problem with it. I live in a very secluded area by the ocean and we don't have the shops and malls that are in the big cities, so this gives me a chance to be city mouse rather than country mouse!

This response is why I am talking my husband into future cruises with Akowilm and her DH.

Her positive and friendly take on most issues makes her a delight. Also, she got us an oceanview to concierge upgrade on our last cruise by being a diligent leader on our roll call and alerting us to the price drop! I'm a fan :)

As for the issue at hand: I love Kate Spade so I am excited to check out the offerings on our December cruise!
