  1. DH and I are a bit younger (30 and 31), but we are in the same boat.

On our Europe cruise, we were in a suite and had access to Michael's. The other passengers weren't thrilled with our choice of attire during the day even...one person referred to our jeans as "scruffies".

Personally, I have no interest or room in packing a formal gown and everything that goes along with it, and I can't even get DH to wear a tie outside of work. We just have chosen to avoid the MDR on those nights, opting for a specialty restaurant or other venue in the past. It will be nice to have the additional options now.

  2. The room was PACKED at 8:00p tonight, barely a seat open. One party was VERY loud and even though they were in the back corner they clearly disturbed many diners including us. One couple left before ordering. It bordered on me saying something, but once they received their first course and had something in their mouths the level did come down a bit.

    Happy sailing,

    Jenna

I'm not sure if we are the couple that you are referring to, but we got up and left around 8:15. For us, though, it was a timing issue. We had been seated since 7:00 and still did not have our entrees by the time we left at 8:15.

  3. We are in a suite in September 2014 and always purchase the premium package as we love the Martini Bar and have our pre dinner drinks there as we like the buzzy atmosphere of this bar.

Whilst appreciating the new upgraded perks with a suite I cannot imagine it would be much fun sitting in a quiet room every evening with how many people?

I may be wrong on this count and will certainly go along to see what is on offer.

For those of you that have tried Michaels Cub under the new offers what was it casually like ?

    Thanks

I think the atmosphere will likely depend on who the other suite guests are. There were usually only a few couples in Michael's Club on most nights, although it was definitely busier on formal nights (when they usually brought in some music). Some people utilized it quite a bit, and others I never even saw in there.

  4. Are you sure about your statement? I know it is open all day, but does it always include free cocktails for High End Suites and Zenith? I thought I read that the free cocktails were only during a 2/3 hour period.

My experience on the Eclipse was anytime. There was generally someone available from 8AM until 9PM every day. I didn't usually venture in there outside of these times to know what the procedure is when it is unmanned.

I had mimosas in the morning, as well as lattes and cappucinos from Cafe al Bacio and fresh squeezed juices. Bailey's coffee or a cappucino in the afternoon. Wine and a decent bar selection in the evening. If they didn't have it, but could get it from Ensemble outside, they would.

  5. Just so I am clear, we are in a Royal Suite on Millie in two weeks. So Michaels will be available to us for free drinks every evening before dinner? I haven't read about this perk anywhere.

    Not just before dinner...anytime :)

  6. Still no suite assigned yet, it truly is like cruise crack, I'm addicted to checking the website. I'm hoping that since we are 3 in the room and the W assignments are a little more rare for for then 2 people we get our room sooner rather then later. With that being said it is a good excitement and having been on 10 cruises it adds the intrigue back into what has become routine vacations. Don't get me wrong I love going on cruises, this just puts the icing on the cake. It has been a lucky year, a few months ago we got a free cruise from Carnival and now this upgrade.

I'm in the same boat as you, but for a Celebrity cruise leaving 5/24...don't feel bad, you're not the only one checking constantly :)

    Sending good vibes your way!
