  1. we just returned from the May 26 sailing. It was great. We did spend extra night in Honolulu which gave us a few hours in the morning to explore, went to the Aloha Tower, which was interesting from a historical standpoint, and it was free to go to the top! Some nice photo ops from up there. I wondering if NCL will reimburse for two missed ports? Will write to them and let you know.

Quiet Stateroom? (With comments on problems) – very quiet. Little bit of a soot problem, which the cabin steward attended to daily upon request.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - no

  3. I just booked Hyatt Pier 66 for pre and post cruise stay in December. After reading Trip Advisor, I got a little worried because the reviews are so mixed. Glad I popped on Cruise Critic, going to stick with it since I did get a great price. Thanks Cruise Critic members for reviews I feel I can trust!

  4. Appreciate your responses. I did request a seat for the shower and the raised toilet. The video was great as it shows the bed is near the bathroom which I was hoping for. If all else fails in the shower, we can just go up to the spa and use their accessible shower. I'm more nervous about this than my mother! The one bummer will be getting into the cabin by herself. The Eclipse accessible had an automatic door opener. Between my brother, his wife and myself, I think we will be fine!

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  5. hello. we are on Celebrity Reflection Jan. 25. Booked back in June and was told we are wait listed for accessible cabin. So far, no good. We are in Aqua cabin 1539. Does anyone know if the bathroom is big enough to use a walker? My mother can walk a short distance, but has difficulty getting up and her balance is not that great. I'm bringing a manual wheelchair with me. I was told we can get a raised seat, but that won't do any good if we can't get to the toilet! I'm seriously thinking about upgrading to a suite just for the extra space. Of all our cruises, this is the first one that we are going on with friends and family, so cancelling wasn't an option. Should I freak out or not??

    Thanks, Dee

  6. Deck - Penthouse

    Cabin # -1522

    Class – Aqua

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Bed near?(balcony or bath) – bed near bath, very easy for wheelchair user

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – no problems with noise

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – view was fantastic

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - 80 sq ft. big enough to get wheelchair out and transfer to balcony chair

    Was wind a problem? no

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? n/a

Any specific problems with this cabin? no

Any other comments? terrific cabin, without the typical problem of water all over the bathroom floor. Only complaint is the slight bump when you walk into the cabin, by the bathroom. Beware if you are unsteady on your feet, or cannot see well.

  7. Recently returned from LOS. I purchased rum runners and filled a large one with water and two smaller ones with "contraband." I had no problem getting the rum runners on board the ship (or on the plane in checked luggage). As a matter of fact, I had one beer left over from the night before the cruise, put it in my carry on figuring if they want it they can have it. Had no problem with that either. Also got a gift from my friend who dropped me off at the ship (a few little bottled of Bailey's, and some vodka). Crammed them in the side pocket of my luggage before the porter took the bags and had no problem getting that through. Of course, I also purchased the cruise line wine package and plenty of mixed drinks. Having a little of your own liquor on board should not be a big deal. I like having a cocktail on my balcony when I want it and not having to wait for room service or go up to a bar to get it.
