  1. We have stayed in cabin B738 on the Royal for two cruises now including the TA in Sept, 2015. We just love that cabin so have it booked again for TA in Oct this year. We had a lot of soot one day on our first cruise, but received quite a bit of OBC for our trouble and then really didn't have any to speak of on the TA. So, it you like larger balconies and a aft view, I say book it.

  2. This affects the dining experience of everyone. Not because they are in a separate section, but they will have access to different food. I am convinced that this will lead to a further degradation of the food quality and selection for others in the main dining rooms. Again, if it were in a separate room as on the other lines, it might not be as big an issue for me.

  3. Well, we will have to see how this affects the dining experience for those of us who prefer the aft balcony cabins, not suites. It is one thing for suites to have breakfast in Sabatinis where I don't have to look at it, but quite another to add a class system to the regular dining rooms. I agree with Pescado Amarillo that it is likely the few new additions to dining room dinners like bananas foster will only be offered to this new dining class. Won't that be fun to watch them receive what we can't get! I have no interest in mini suites and rarely can afford suites so don't know how many more Princess cruises are in my future.

  4. We will be docking at Rotterdam at noon on a Monday and leaving at 2 pm on Tuesday. Since we don't have to worry about missing the ship if we return late on Monday night we were thinking of taking the train to Amsterdam on Monday. Has anyone done this? How easy is it? I know we can take the Princess Amsterdam on your own tour, but then we are fixed to their schedule.

    Thanks

  5. We stayed in B738 on the Feb 23rd sailing. For 6 of the 7 days, we just had very fine black dust which we wiped off each morning with the extra beach towels our room steward provided for that purpose. However, on the morning we pulled into St Martaan, the deck was covered in large (approx. 3/4 - 1 inch in diameter) oily pieces of soot. It took two towels to get most of it, but it was very nasty. I decided to make a trip to passenger services to register our dissatisfaction. She immediately apologized and said they are aware of it but it can't be fixed in 24 hours, so she would have her manager call us to discuss compensation. We received a very nice shipboard credit. Since we couldn't use it all in the days remaining, on the last night they refunded the credit balance to us in cash. The said they no longer put a credit on your credit card or mail you a check so we got cash. Our balcony was half open and half covered and all the other fully AFT balconies looked the same throughout the week. Hope this update helps.
