Has anyone seen official or speculation on which ncl ships may be refurbished in the coming few years?

 

I just booked the breakaway for a 10 day in April 2019 and at that point the breakaway would be going on 6 years and while that's still young, as a primary ship and one of few large ships sailing from the northeast, just wondering if she may get a small refurb prior to sailing.

 

What's her current condition? Anyone seeing any wear and tear beginning to happen?

I also enjoyed the studio cabin when traveling alone. They were just big enough for sleeping and changing, which is the only thing I do in my cabin any way. I like being out and about onboard but to each his own,

This is misleading. While I understand what you are saying, there is always confusion when it comes to this. It's easiest just to think of it as paying $150 for a $250 deposit. What will happen is you will see a $250 charge to your onboard account and then a credit for $100.

The Escape room is fun. You can reserve it online on the webpage in advance too, I think. Try to do it earlier in the week as it gets booked up later

I enjoyed the solo cabin because I was traveling alone and we met every night in the studio lounge and had the option to go to dinner with the group instead of alone. Joey, our solo guide, reserved us the best tables also. I had a lot of new friends, it was a great experience. I am booked again in February 2018

If you buy a $250 deposit voucher onboard, they take $100 off your current cruise bill

You can purchase multiples of bottled water. When you get on the ship, go to the pool area, they are usually selling them there and they will deliver them to your room. I usually wait to order them while I am onboard because I am a Platinum latitude member and I get a discount onboard

There are security cameras all over the ship. Just look for them. No hiding from security

Hi I just returned from a 9 night cruise on Norwegian Gem.

She has not been refurbished yet but definitely needs it. She used

to be gorgeous and perfect...now, not so much.

Many broken seats in the theater, worn upholstery, wood trim in need of painting and repaired

I still love her though
