Thank you everyone. I see the only advantage is if you are not sure you want to take the cruise. We normally book 6 to 9 months out to take advantage of the lower prices.

JIm you mentioned that you book refundable deposits and change over to NRD before sailing.

My questions are 1) When do change to NRD?

2) Do you keep your current prices or does it act as a new booking at the current price?

That's what I figured, but she quoted me the price for all 3 cabins. No one else has gambled on Celebrity previously. I am hoping they will honor the quote.

Called Blue Chip for pricing of a cruise June 2022. Agent quoted me a price of 10% off for 3 veranda cabins, even gave me the cabin numbers. Needed SIL and DS gf information for the cabins. Called back 30 minutes later to book the rooms. New agent said that the quoted price was for only 1 cabin not for 3. Escalated to a supervisor who needed to review the tape. Called me back the next day and was vague and saying the price was not really given. I told her to listen to tape again. I wrote down the original price and cabin numbers. Other individuals are not gamblers. Anyone else had this experience?

I think Royal Caribbean should be applauded for cancelling  cruises through May 11. It relies some stress from those that had trips planned in that time frame not having to wait to the last minute.

I am wondering how many top level executives and their families are booking cruises right now.. they should be booking all these cruises that have not been cancelled. It would show that they have confidence that the cruises will sail the next few months. That the are perfectly safe to travel on right now. That they are willing to gamble that all the closed ports will be open in April and May. That they can even fly into some of the countries that the ships are to sail from. They should still be able to do their jobs with the internet. If they really have confidence, they will book inside cabins and move any guests to balconies. That to me would show that they really stand behind their recent decisions.

How do you board a ship that leaves out of Italy.

We leave out of Civitavecchia Italy on May 4.
