  1. If you want a relaxing beach day, Nachi is the spot.

If you want a bit more of a party atmosphere, Mr. Sanchos is your spot.

If you want kid friendly, Playa Mia or Paradise Beach is your spot.

If you want snorkeling, Chankanaab or Money Bar are your spot.

The day we hit Coz in Oct is the highest capacity day of the month. 12,500+ people.

I want a beach day. With a great pool, since the ship's pool is like a big bowl of human soup. We will have kids with us that are 13 and 9. Snorkeling and unltd alcohol are not required.

Playa Mia looks nice, but crowded? I was thinking of Chankanaab. Also very crowded? Maybe Nachi is a better choice due to the crowds that will be all over the island?

Our goals are: fewer people, good food, pool and beach time, a couple of cervezas.

  2. Will you share what price you paid for this excursion? I can't recall if you mentioned it...I assume it was privately booked? If so, through Frenchy's?

If you didn't snorkel, would this be worth a visit?

I KNOW you said what camera you have, and I know one of them is a Canon D10, but what was the other one? I looked for the post but can't find it. I am on a search for a good camera and your pics are just lovely!

  3. Just my 2 cents but if you're going to Roatan, I recommend the Gumbalimba park excursion if your kids like animals. You get to hold birds, snakes, and monkeys and they have a nice private beach to spend the rest of the day on after you go through the park. It was fairly inexpensive and lots of fun.

Sorry OP! Don't mean to hijack your thread. LOVING the review/pics!

Thanks for this!! My dh is a total nerd and wants to see and hold and play with monkeys. :o I have no idea where this obsession has come from, but there it is.

I am thinking maybe of doing a Bodden tour called Zip and Dip. Monkeys, zip lining, beach time, then back to the ship. The only special stop we want to make is to find some good cigars. Might book a private driver for the day since it doesn't seem to be any more expensive. If we skip the ziplining (I have some concerns about whether this is a good choice for our particular family) then Gumbalimba and some relaxing beach time sounds fab!!

This is a great review and is really helping me get a feel for things! We sail for our very cruise EVAH on the Magic in Oct. Bringing along our 13yo girl and 9yo boy. We are beyond excited. I know the Magic is a different ship, but the many similarities are giving me a good idea about the ship. And all the noob stuff you are pointing out (like dining) is very, very helpful! *takes notes furiously Really, for someone totally clueless about cruising, this kind of review is invaluable!

I also will be checking your links for reviews on excursions. Our schedule is Roatan, Belize and Coz.

Your comments about poor little Brayden are priceless. It's tough being 5 and sunburned. :(

Can't wait to hear more! :D
