Out of interest what would people wear? Long frock or cocktail dress be ok? Suit and tie or black tie? My upcoming cruise is 7 nights so not relevant but like my grandma I’m nosy! 🤣

I shall live vicariously through you, @wineoclock! I'm a big champers fan and it's one of the few drinks I'll imbibe before noon. Unfortunately we don't have any Sunday sea days on our first Regent cruise this December, more's the pity.
As my mother says - it’s never too early for champagne!

I’ve just checked my upcoming sailing and we have a sea day on a Sunday. Happy days.

wonder where those 50 documented incidents happened. the loungers on decks around pool and track, are jammed together. suspicious. We ve never seen or heard of anyone hurt by a lounger on any of our cruises. Another cookie gate
Thank you.
When I’ve composed my next suitable email and received a response I’ll let you all know!

Thank you @the penguins
I don’t tend to give up when something will ruin my experience! So I’ll email again stating my points clearly. It may be that as I’m approaching 60 they no longer want my business. We don’t cruise often but when we do we like to cruise in a suite. Trying Regent in October so we may prefer them or stick with X.

We had a gty on our October cruise last year on beyond. We loved it - magic carpet far more than our CS the year before. Next year we’ve booked the MC again.

Tiny update, direct from Executive Office customer service individual:
I was just informed that the decision was made at the highest level, the new CEO and her inner circle. Comments made to the phone number below are being passed onto that upper level management team.
I also pressed for a firm answer as to what furniture would be placed on the balcony. Answer? The Kelly Hoppen miserably uncomfortable little half back chairs. I reiterated that there's a couple of months before final payment, and I would not accept those chairs under any circumstances. The fellow I spoke to (Mantana?) stated that all emails and phone conversations are being compiled and then passed on to upper management.
So, I'm not quite ready to stop beating that poor horse. It's not dead (YET)! There are 7 folks answering the phones at the number below. They are well aware of this issue, and the fact that we're not buying an unexplained "safety" excuse. Call them!
Executive Office: (305) 614-1343
PS> I also added that if passenger misbehavior or lounger misuse is responsible for this matter, let them look at their deck cameras and punish the abusers. Ship Security would know who they were!
Thank you
do you know if they are monitoring emails as well? I’ve emailed twice. Phone calls from the U.K. will be expensive but worth it for my lounger.
-
I’ve received a generic reply. I then replied back stating I was sailing Regent in upcoming months and I would have a lounger and comfortable balcony furniture. I said they could perhaps contact other lines to see how they dealt with balcony furniture safety issues.
If you’ve booked a balcony especially on E class then you’ve paid a massive premium for an SV or a suite. What’s the point if the furniture isn’t comfortable.

People can notify Celebrity of their thoughts to executiveoffice@celebrity.com
Thank you. Hopefully the more people email the more they realise what’s important. I’d have thought having the loungers also prevents some chair hog scenarios!

For those of you canceling or not booking future cruises, please drop a note to Celebrity corporate to let them know why.
For anyone who wants to ask the President on the next President's cruise, please also mention in your question how patronizing it is for her staff to hide behind safety as an excuse.
I know I should know as I’ve emailed before but what is the email address please for corporate? I can’t seem to find it 🤦🏻♀️ thank you

Who are people emailing please?
Booked X for next year and would prefer to have loungers on my balcony than not.
TIA

The breakfast timings for Luminae are ridiculous.
I’ve never been to a hotel where breakfast stops being served at 9am. 10.30 is more usual. However since we mainly go to the Elite breakfast it doesn’t bother us personally, but can understand it would bother others.
We are trying Regent for our next cruise and got a great deal.
We’ve had to move our June cruise on Apex till next year so let’s see what suite changes there will be from now till then 😃

I remember when in PS that we had a choice of having 2 bottles of spirit of our choice. We chose gin and vodka.

Agree....they need to extend breakfast hours in Luminae....9:00 AM is too early....I believe the OV Cafe serves breakfast until 11:00 AM
On sea days or when we have a later excursion we usually go to the Elite breakfast or the OV. Why be up for breakfast at 9am on a sea day when I don’t need to be.

Our favourite Cornish hotel has an “expectation that guests change for dinner”. We love it as it makes dinner and pre dinner cocktails an event. I pack my favourite frocks and jackets expected for men with most wearing ties also.
I’ll be packing those same frocks for my cruise. I dress for myself not others!

Unfortunately many feel the need to take it out on the crew with anything they don't like or can't get. There is an old expression that a bully only picks on someone who can't fight back. I've seen to much of this on cruising.
No one should be yelling at any crew at any point. It’s not the crews fault that corporate has so little regard for their customers.

We had them in October in Magic carpet suite. I’ll be very disappointed if we don’t have them on our next cruise.

We did ‘small groups’ on our October group. On 2 separate excursions it meant waiting for the other ‘small group’ to catch us up before being given a talk, lunch and a coffee break.
Not my idea of a small group. I fed that back to excursion team back on the ship.

We usually end up purchasing wine bottles in Luminae and specialities as I think life is too short to drink bad wine. Although it does stick in the craw a tad!
Edit: forgot to add we are trying Regent I October for the first time so will be interesting to see what their included drinks are.

If I could get an SV on E class I’d be happy not to be in retreat. Dh doesn’t like the retreat lounge and we prefer the speciality restaurants to Luminae. We use elite breakfast rather than Luminae and sometimes buffet for dinner & breakfast.
We book a suite purely for the balcony which I’m non negotiable on.
We spend more time in cafe al bacio or one of the bars rather than the retreat lounge, which though perfectly pleasant, doesn’t have much atmosphere imo.
