  1. Thank you. Via Celebrity, they are saying no adjoining are available. We need adjoining because we're traveling with 2 teens, don't want them on the other side of the hallway. We did Equinox in March this year, had adjoining via an alcove in the hallway, deck 8 I believe. Worked wonderfully, could share baths, open balcony partition, only needed 1 key card for all 4 of us. Room class is irrelevant to us, just need veranda adjoining.

  2. Trying to book 2 adjoining veranda rooms on Equinox next August and being told there are basically no choices in cabin location aside from back of ship. Honestly, 10 months out, in a month where most kids are headed back to school/college, I know it's not a super full time to sail, why aren't there any choices? I'm not paying to be dizzy all week, we want midship, and they're saying there are no rooms available anywhere else. I honestly just don't believe it. What's going on? I've cruised at least 6x and never booked this early before, and always had pick of any area I want. Why would choices be this limited so far in advance?

  3. You are speculating they will do away with the teen areas?

We can only speculate for now but it seems as follows:

-Solstice Deck sundeck to be replaced by Retreat sundeck

-Conference Center and half of Sky Lounge to be replaced by Signature and Reflection Suites (already done on Reflection).

The above seem pretty definite. Below are my additional speculations:

-Kid and Teen Area replaced by Retreat Lounge

-Basketball court replaced by Retreat pool area

And this is a big maybe:

-Other half of Sky Lounge replaced by Luminae?

Luminae was mentioned for getting upgrades but nothing said about it moving and no renderings of a new space so this might not happen, again just my speculation on what would make the most sense for creating a total Suites only space to match what’s on Edge.

If the above happens then spaces will open up like the current Michael’s Club and Luminae for new venues that would be open to everyone which is a plus.

  4. Those that think they are higher class people due to paying more for a higher class room are so stinkin' wrong it's hilarious. And ridiculous. We enjoyed Blu, but honestly, I'm not a spa person, and we didn't even like the afternoon tapas they brought. So to me it's not worth a vast difference in cost just for Blu. And no, I didn't feel any *more* special being Aqua than I have on any other cruise, any other line, any other category. It's all the same. They treat all guests the same.

  5. Can't judge a book by it's cover. Some don't see the added value in paying for higher classes & just choose not to. Wealth has nothing to do with it. Often the wealthiest people are the cheapest anyway. We've been Aqua before but this time see more value in having 2 balconies for a family of 4 than squeezing into one Aqua class just to get a few extra perks. Would rather have more space, and don't give a %@$% what anyone else on board thinks.

  6. The Ensigns age group is 8-11, my daughter is 9 and I mentioned this on another thread that we will also be on the equinox March 24th. Not sure about the older groupsor whether they care if older kids participate with the younger groups.

Our only experience was when she was 4, we were on the Constellation in January, and sometimes she was the only child in the club. Free babysitting!! The staff loved her! And she had a great time.

Okay great! Thanks! I was really wondering about such a large age range. 8-11 makes a lot more sense!

  7. We are on the same cruise as you! We have a 9 year old daughter who will definitely be in the kids club a few times. I hope we get a chance to meet you all!

Oh good I'm so glad! I just informed my daughter & she breathed a sigh of relief! She was so afraid it would be just her, and then a lot of much younger ones!

  8. Lots of anti-kid responses eh? We will be bringing our 11 & 13 year olds on Celebrity for their first ever cruise in March. They're both quiet intellectual types. I hate to think the old people on this thread would be opposed to this HAHAHA! Oh well too bad. We have chosen Celebrity for multiple reasons, but in this particular case, because of life-threatening food allergies. My husband and I have cruised many other lines, and we corner the head of dining services on every cruise we've ever taken and grill them about their policies. I can tell you that Celebrity was the only line fully aware of/cautious of food allergies with proper protocols in place. The head waiter on RCCL tried on multiple cruises to force me to eat food I was allergic to. They also had no clue whether it was prepared in a safe area, nor did they know the ingredients. The food on Carnival was just plain gross. And while my food allergies are not life threatening, my daughter's are life threatening. The only line we feel safe taking her on is Celebrity. I very much appreciated the dining room customizing our food at every meal on Celebrity, and that was in both the MDR and Blu. And no we will not stay home/not cruise/not experience life due to food allergies, so don't even bother posting that type of a response. My kids have been begging to go on a cruise for years. So they're finally getting to go. And they will enjoy it regardless of their young ages, because that's the type of kids they are. My 13 year old is looking forward to the library, and my 11 year old is stoked about the glass show. So there ya go, age IS really just a number folks.

  9. I'm getting ready to take my kids on their first cruise (March/spring break). At the time of sailing they will be 13 and 11-and-3/4. My daughter does NOT wish to be grouped in with ages 3-11 and would prefer to be with her brother in the group for older kids. Are they absolutely firm on the ages, or might she be able to join the older kids, since she will literally be almost-12?

  10. We're going to be on GC in March. Trying to decide what we might do for the day with 2 (quiet) older kids (11 & 13). Would really like to see 7 Mile Beach but would prefer to avoid heavy crowds and smaller aged kids. Looking for a low key day. We are wondering how best to avoid the crowds at 7MB and what other beach options might be easily accessible for a family of 4?
