  1. We were on the Navigator in the summer of 2015. As soon as we got to our suite on embarkation day, we asked for several Coronas, with limes, a bottle of Makers Mark, a bottle of Grey Goose and a bottle of red and white wines. We we fully stocked in about 30 minutes. The next day we asked for lots of Ginger Ale. :)

  2. We have experienced the vibration issue on the Navigator and heard about it on the Voyager, but have heard nothing about the Mariner. We are on the 15 Nov Mariner sailing out of Miami and was wondering if we should consider an upsell to an aft suite if offered. Is vibration an issue on the Mariner? Thanks in advance for your response.

  3. It sounds like with your already negative attitude that maybe cruising is no longer for you. Perhaps try a nice land side hotel or resort instead.

It was not my intention to come across in a negative manner. I just remember the cabins on my last RCCL cruise (Liberty OTS I think) to be quite small. I didn't say got away from cruising, I just got away from RCCL. I was really just looking to do a little comparison between RCCL and my current cruise line.

  4. My wife and I sailed on Navigator last year to Alaska. We had a concierge suite and the steward provided all of the alcohol in full bottles we requested. I'm now seeing on the Regent web site language which makes be believe only beer and soft drinks are offered for all but the highest end suites. Does anyone know if this is now the case, or am I reading something into their web site that is not there? At $1k+ per night, really like to have a cocktail without having to go find an open bar.

  5. My wife and I have also sailed many of the big box cruise lines and have become very dissatisfied with their product. We first sailed Regent two years ago on the Navigator to Alaska. liked it so much we did the same cruise last week. I think you'll find the Regent experience to be very different from Celebrity. At first, it seems a little pricey. However my bill at the end of our last cruise was $22, mainly for a few laundry items. It pained me to leave a half bottle of my favorite bourbon in the suite, but that's the way it goes. We are in our mid 50's and have decided it doesn't cost any more to go first class, you just don't go quite as often. I believe you have made the right choice.

  6. Wow. This is a serious discussion full of dissent and whispers of insurgency. Maybe we should all rebel and throw Regent’s coffee over the side.

I can drink just about anything to include jet fuel as long as it’s injected with caffeine (think Turkish coffee). But, I have to admit that Regent's coffee requires a double shot of Amaretto to make it palatable (not a good thing at 7AM). On the other hand, The Boss requires specific adherence to her instructions in order to meet her demanding standards for coffee. Ironically, her coffee of choice is Folger’s Breakfast Blend. Needless to say she goes without any coffee whenever we travel which makes her into a cranky Boss.

A shot (or so) of Bailey's Irish Cream will do the trick also. My DW always gets a bottle to keep in the suite. We've actually taken it to the pool deck with us in the morning to mix with our coffee. Made quite a few new friends this way.
