  1. Depending on the number of passengers and ages traveling with you:

    Something to consider:

    • Debark ship
    • Take the "F" street-car fronting the pier (heading away from Fisherman's Wharf)
    • Exit at the Embarcadero BART station (ask operator).
    • Hop on BART which takes you to SFO. (ask for correct train/direction).

I believe your zoom level is larger than the p[age fit, if you zoom out you should see it...  Hold the Cntrl key and press the minus key  - (zoom outl) or hold cntrl key and scroll if you have a scroll mouse so it zooms out, or click the 3 dots on the for right

    Hey.... Guess What ?

    Your suggestion worked !!!!

Being a very Senior-Citizen, with failing vision...

I enlarge the contents of my monitor...

    so I can see/read the contents :classic_rolleyes:

    Issue Solved.

    Thanks AlanF65 !!!

How large is your monitor do you know?

I think you mentioned it was a surface - I think they are similar in size to an ipad but have more computing capabilities?  That could be why - something of that size would be recognized as a tablet and possibly served in the tablet view

My computer of choice is a DESK-TOP.

    I believe it's a Dell 8400.

I only use my 'Surface' on-the-road (Vacations, etc.)

I'm not concerned about not seeing my username under the Magnifying-Glass.

For some reason it is serving up a mobile screen, do you see the same thing if you click here

    https://boards.cruisecritic.com/

    Yup !

That same blank space under the magnifying-glass.

or maximize you window or drag the right edge over to the right, I see the same thing when not in a full window. You can also press the windows key and up arrow at the same time

Neither of the above suggestions work.

So Figure... anyway, it doesn't bother me.

WHEN (which is rare) I next use my Windows 'Surface' computer,

I'll see if it operates any differently.

I'm on a desktop and when clicked on the three horizontal bars... BINGO !!!

    To quote Amazing Grace:

"Was blind... but now I see" ;)

    Thanks AlanF65... et al !!!

I still wonder why I don't see my 'username' but that's another story.

    Thanks Folks !!!

This is what I see at the top of the page:

    image.thumb.png.6bc05a4495eb97f3a30c6f78958bc314.png

Just below the search magnifying glass is my username.

My username is NOT under the magnifying glass.

The only thing under the magnifying glass is 2 1/2 inch of blank space.

How can I take a 'picture' of the upper portion of my screen so I can paste here ???

  7. Many years ago when we were young and poor we always booked inside cabins. I will admit that I have had some of the best nights (and days) of sleeping in those inside cabins when I had no clue whether it was day or night.

My query was for friends who will be sailing with us and to save fund$ they opted for an inside-cabin.

DW and I started with an outside-cabin (circa mid-70s) and once we booked a balcony... it's strictly Balcony for us.

A suite is on my Bucket-List but... money (or the lack of) gets in the way. ;p

Fortunately/Unfortunately... I have a built-in "clock" where I automatically wake up after 6-hours or so.

I agree with you regarding the International Cafe as my savior.

  8. Also, you pay the difference if a drink is over $15.....

A HUGE Thank You for all who responded to my inquiry !

    One other question begs asking:

On NCL "Sky" there's "Free Open Bar" that's automatically included in the price of the cruise.

    How is the Service-Charge (20%?) handled ???

    Sailor-1959

  9. $17.80/day so be sure to drink at least two to three alcoholic drinks a day or some soda's/etc. to get your monies worth. We found it very easy to get out monies worth on the last cruise. A drink or two by the pool during the day. A glass of wine at dinner. Another drink or two for the nightly show. Maybe one at Howl at the Moon. Definitely was worth the $17.80/day.

    Can Do.

    Thx.

  10. Are you actually going to buy the UBP or do you mean just selecting it as a promo? Just want to make sure you are aware that most of us are able to get the UBP free as a promo. The same 20% service charge still usually applies however.

    Hi Moby !

I've seen promotions for the "free" UBP too.

My main concern was when might the Service-Charge be billed.

It's already been answered but if it was charged per drink... I could have control over how much I'd be charged.

That said... I do appreciate your input.

    Thanks, Sailor-1959

  11. I also posted this question on the West Coast Ports forum, but does anyone know if you still have to stand outside (in the weather) at the SF Cruise Ship Terminal? We want to arrive early for our BVE to take full advantage of our time on board, but the weather for our BVE this Saturday is supposed to be raining. :(

The last time I boarded in SF they kept us outside until they were ready to start registration.

How long ago was it when you boarded in SF ?

They have a new, shiny, terminal building with more space.

I would think/hope they'll open the doors earlier if it's raining.
