Hi we took the shuttle to Paihia and then a helicopter ride. The views were amazing and flying over our ship the Queen Elizabeth was a great way to get a different view

When we got into Sydney they removed the poppies and put them into a container. The 100 was empty for Sydneysiders

I thought I'd share my Picture review of my voyage on QE and my comparison with the other queens.

Thank you for your post. Our condolences to the family and thanks to people like yourself and the crew for your attempts to save lives. We had an emergency air lift on our Diamond Princess cruise earlier this year. Despite the Captain's continual request for no camera's to be used, the fools around us even though we were immediately under the rescue area, still decided that the photos were more important than the life of the patient, air crew and all other passengers. I am sure that they would be the first to complain if their loved ones were at the centre of the medical emergency.

Hi. Just to let you know that we have received the art work and we are very happy with them. We have had them framed at nearly three times the cost of the art and they are now on the walls. We are thoroughly enjoying them :o
-
Thank you for your replies. We have paid the duties so now we will await the paintings to enjoy. Let us hope that they are what we are expecting and that we have not been duped:confused:

Hi,
We have just received an invoice from United Parcel Services in Sydney saying that we have to pay customs in regards to some art we bought on our last cruise, as this is the first time we have bought some art work we were wondering if this is the normal procedure in regards to custom fees. I would appreciate your advice on this.
Thanks in advance

32 and we are so excited. Diamond Princess leaving Sydney to Singapore. Happy Days

That's a pity as haggis is the best stuffing for chicken:D

You should be right for less (to no) children aboard.:D
Hi. That's what we are hoping. It is not that we don't like kids. Just don't want to be surrounded by them whist on holiday.
-
Just pulling into Sydney. Was a lovely cruise. Did the pop choir for the first time and that was a lot of fun.
300 kids are on the next cruise. Hehehe that will be fun..
Glad to hear that you had a great cruise. Sydney Harbour is so amazing at sunrise. Hope there are not too many kids on our cruise in February. Booked that as it is not school holiday time:p

Good to know, thanks for posting. I suppose as the OP has a 7 day cruise, they will not be available.:D
Hi. It's good to know as we are on a 19 day cruise, not 7 but used 7 as this is what I thought was the minimum for the package. :D
-
Hi. Thanks for your replies. I know that we are allowed one bottle each without corkage. What I want to know is can you purchase a wine package on Diamond Princess sailing from Sydney
-
Hi, I have been reading about a wine package for cruises over 7 days on the Princess line. I am especially interested in the availability on Diamond Princess.
Are these available for cruises leaving Sydney to Asia? I know I can bring on more than the 1 bottle per person and have the $15 corkage, but if it was possible to have the wine package pre ordered then that would be my preference. I have not seen it advertised anywhere on the website.
Thank you for all the expert advice on this site, it has been so helpful :o

Just returned from Diamond Princess 19 day cruise from Singapore to Sydney - amazing trip - loved it so much we are looking to book it in reverse from Sydney to Singapore in March 2015. I know it is a long time ahead but would you book it now through either Princess or travel agent or wait until nearer the time in case the price changes?
Hi, so glad to hear that you had an amazing trip, it makes me feel better as we are doing that same cruise Sydney to Singapore, leaving Sydney Feb 2014, we are so looking forward to it, albeit a little anxious as we have only cruised once a very long time ago.
We booked it 9 months ago and have had a few price drops since, so I would say book now and get the cabin you want. We used a TA this time, but I think for any others I would book through Princess directly as it seems that they will honour more price drops, especially after final payment. Even if it is in OBC's it is better than nothing.
Can you tell me what the average age group was whilst you were on board, also what you would advise not to be missed.
Thank you and happy future cruising

I have recently been sailing on the Diamond Princess. We had the best room steward ever, could you please do me a favour, could you go to cabins around e731, e733 aft and speak to Marlon (room steward) and tell him I haven't forgotten about the 5th. He will understand.
Thanks
Linda
Forgot to add.. Have a wonderful trip, the Diamond is my favourite ship.
Hi Linda, We are on her in February. Can you please tell me what movies were showing at the time you were cruising. Thanks
-
Yes. They have a big balcony.
A bit short on privacy and weather protection though.
Hi. We are on her soon and have a balcony on Caribe deck mid ship. Have we chosen wisely:confused:
-
Hi. We were in Sydney yesterday watching her come in. Making me more excited about our cruise to Singapore. So glad that we changed our cabin to one on Caribe deck. Loved the look of the balcony. Happy cruising everyone:cool:
-
Hi. I take it that you are doing the Tasmanian cruise. We were in Sydney yesterday watching her come in. She looks quite magnificent. We are on her to go to Singapore in February. Hope you have a fantastic cruise. Congratulations on your upgrade. It would be great if you could let us know how you find the ship. Happy cruising:p

My travel agent is suggesting a Blue Mtn tour but not sure of provider name. Cost is $160 USD with cablecar. approx 9.5 hrs.
I am trying to decide if this is a tour I want to do. We are arriving 3 days before cruise leaves Jan 28. I would like to get out of the city for a different experience. Would appreciate your sharing any details and your overall impressions. Thanks so much
Hi. Have you thought of doing it by yourself. You can catch the train from Central Station up to the mountains. Then you can get the trolley bus hoho as you please around the different sites for a fraction of the cost that the tour companies charge. Even stay the night at one of the many hotels. If you want any details just ask:p
-
Thanks to everyone who has kindly replied to my question :D
We will get to the OPT late morning, and if possible we will check in.
If not then we will drop off our bags and go relax around the harbour happily knowing that we have started our adventure:p:):)
When they open up for boarding and there are no long queues then we will proceed - with all our forms completed;).
Only 99 days to go YEAH

Hi all you expert cruisers ;)
We are going on the Diamond Princess in February to Singapore.
Our information states that check in is between 2pm and 7pm.
Has anyone checked in earlier than this at Sydney on a Princess cruise?
If so what is the earliest that we could check in our bags and get to our cabin??
Thank you in advance

How terrible for the passengers on the cancelled cruise but better than experiencing problems at sea. I avoid a cruise after drydock because sometimes things go wrong & problems happen. Even the last cruise before drydock can be affected when work begins during the cruise before drydock.
Hi Astro Flyer,
Can you please let us know how the cruise before drydock can be affected. We are booked on Diamond Princess before dry dock in Singapore in March 14
Thanks

This is so sad, and we feel for everyone who has had their holiday's ruined after all the pre holiday excitement. Hope you all got home safe and sound and that the gentleman who had the heart attack is recovering well.
We are on the Diamond for the cruise before she goes into dry dock, I notice someone said that there are disruptions on these cruises also, can you please advise what type of problems we may encounter.
Thank you

We did the same in February last year. Taxi from Airport was about $50. We stayed at the Sheraton which was pretty central to everything at Fishermans Wharf. There is a Safeway across from the hotel for all the last minute items. Have a great trip
