  1. Franticadventures , we too were on the same cruise as you . But our trip was so differant than yours , i would even go as far as saying i would of thought we were on differant ships . We have cruised several times and have always had our passports taken from us .The ports we stopped at are unfortunately located sevel hours from cities , however we have stopped at these ports on othe cruise lines and the all tie up at the same place . The beverage package we bought for AU$53 covered all alcohol beverages except for high price wine and champagnes. Not sure why you would be charged for cocktails priced higher than a certain amount. We were drinking variois cocktails and spirits and never were charged . We found all restaurants to be very good and all service from everyone exceptional. Our only issue was dealing with some wingeing Aussies who thought they should be getting 5star service on a cruise that is classed as casual . We met many people onboard and have kept in contact with a few , alll had an excellant time . We are now going to book next years relocation cruise from Sydney to Singapore .

  2. Just off the Voyager . Luckily had the ultimate package . Everything included , no questions asked . However some people with the premium were charged extra at certain bars for cocktails . Not sure why . All i know is i covered my cost 4 times over . Was lucky to get mine at $53 AU a day ... :D

  3. Hi, I think the OP was really looking to clarify is the ship arranges the visa or not. We are in the same boat (no pun intended) and keep getting told to look at the embassy website or gov.co.uk. Its categorically clear that we need a visa for Vietnam, what is not clear is wether or not this is sorted by the ship or by us in advance prior to travelling.

After contacting RCI International , i can verify that the Visa is done on board for British passport holders . The misunderstanding was due to the fact that RCI Australia only give advice for Aus and NZL holders . If you go to RCI British website you will find that it states that RCI do on board Visa for British holders . Hope this helps .

  4. Need help ... all the info we hav erecieved has stated that the Visas for Vietnam are done by RCL onboard . We have traveled to the same port with Costa ant this was the case with no problems . On the roll call , someone posted that they were advised that with a British passport , RCL with not do Visa on board and will only be doing so for AUSTRALIAN and NEW ZEALAND passport holders .. I have emailed RCL with no reply . I am confident that the person quoting this has had the wrong advice . Anyone else been to Vietnam with RCL and a British passport. My partner is an Australian resident but not a citizen , so travels with a British passport.

    Thanks in advance.

  5. 2yrs ago , on another cruise line , we had an unlimited package . I have never drank so much in 7 nights in my life .. they gave us receipts for every drink , although i lost a few .. at the end of the cruise we added up the amount if we were paying .. i fell over at the thought of $2500 of alcohol in 7 nights for 2 persons .. not bad when the package was $25 a day ..we treated the bar staff with respect and never had any trouble ordering drinks .. fellow cruisers were forever complaing and guess what , they were the ones waiting for drinks ... . look out Voyager in 7 weeks ...

  6. When booking in Australia we pay all grats up front .. On a recent cruise a large group were all very unhappy paying the daily service charge as in their opinion the service was sub standard . We paid for ours in our ticketed price , so were unaware of any charges . So when you don't see that amount being added to your room acc daily you don't seem to care as much ... I like the fact that we pay up front .

  7. We are booked on Voyager , Perth to Singapore on deck 12 balcony room . We booked X category and was either lucky or unlucky to be allocated this room .. I hope the weather is ok , otherwise could be a rough trip. The price we paid was too good to refuse . Was a choice between this one and P & O Jewel .. Have searched for hours trying to find info on these rooms , as they are very new , i have been unable to find much info ... Anyone else had these rooms !
