  1. Just got off the same cruise and agree with most of your assessment. This was our first Carnival cruise since 2010, having spent the last 4 on NCL, and this food does not even compare. Dining room was better than the buffet, for sure! And YES to order more than 1 dinner, also more than one dessert LOL. Cheers program - thank goodness my husband and I decided to split up and cabin with one kid each, to avoid having to pay for booze for both of us, definitely was not worth it.

We had cabins 4203 and 4205, the lifeboats hung outside our 'obstructed view' window. It would have been fine if it was just the boats, however, for several days, there were crew working/soldering/drilling outside our window for hours. I felt like I was in a dentist chair and a wee bit creepy that we could see their shadows thru the curtains.

  2. Just back from Carnival Pride - stopped at Grand Turk on July 4th. We (2 adults, 2 17 year olds) got off the ship and headed to the taxi area, found a great guy/guide - paid $25pp for a 2+ hour tour around the island and dropped us off at Pillory Beach for a couple more hours, then came to pick us up. Money well spent! He showed us all around and made stops along the way for photos.

Pillory Beach was practically empty, donkeys walked up to us, we saw a couple get engaged, fun way to spend some quiet time away from the cruise crowds. When we got back to the dock, walked into Margaritaville and lasted 15 whole minutes amongst the mobs.

  3. I focus on the positive.

It is a great place for a beach day.

You can simply arrange for a tour of the island by walking out to the parking lot and negotiating a rate with a van and driver. Easy to see in a few hours.

    Keith

What would be a good rate for island tour, family of 4. Thanks.

  4. If there are multiple people in a cabin with different flights, all on participating airlines, some on the same airlines at the same times but different reservation numbers, does each one have to fill out their own form?

THe form has 4 lines to list each person separately with their flight info including #, airline and Record locator so I would imagine everyone from your cabin goes on one form. If you have more than 4 then you will probably need another form. Best to ask at guest services on the ship.

  5. Looks like Seattle Port Valet on NCL is pretty much confirmed.

    Thanks for posting.

Also wanted to add that I had a connecting flight and on my boarding pass, my luggage tag number was printed. American Airlines has a luggage tracking system so I was able to check and make sure my bags made it from one flight to the next.

  6. I am guessing you had NCL Air (not your own booking)?? Your experience is way different that what it says on ncl.com in the link above.

I booked air separately and actually had issues with that prior to the trip, but the Valet service is run by the Port of Seattle not by NCL.

I have a copy of the form but I have not been able to upload it due to size.

  7. If you are talking about where they take your bags to the airport from the ship, then the answer is no.

Just disembarked 8/20/17 in Seattle from NCL Pearl. We signed up for the luggage valet by Wednesday, put our luggage out by midnight Saturday 8/19 and didn't have to do a thing until we reached our home airport on 8/21. NCL checked us into our flights, provided boarding passes and luggage tags by 6pm on Sat (though they say 7pm but our cabin steward said she put the envelope in our cabin earlier knowing what they were). Seamless. We had a wonderful day in Seattle without having to worry about dragging bags around and finding storage. It is only offered for certain airlines.

  8. I had spoken with NCL before and just spoke with them again yesterday. They are not participating in this program.

It is mostly Pier 91 ships, NCL is Pier 66. NCL no longer has their own valet service that they did years ago either. You'll have to store your bags downtown at the Pier, the Edgewater Hotel or Nordstroms.

    That is incorrect.
