  1. For 2 people our port charges $99 per person, so I figured rounded off at 2 ports for $99 per person, that half of that would be $49.50 per person per port and they gave $100 per room not per passenger back, so my fault then they gave us back a quarter each.

  2. Recently my wife and I went on a short 4day cruise on the Elation. Due to engine issues they couldn't get the ship up to full speed, so this caused us to miss 1 of our 2 ports of call. We missed Freeport which I had booked a beach day. They refunded the excursion and also gave every room $100 onboard credit. A lot of people thought this was not enough since it wasn't a weather related issue, I didn't really give it much thought until I started thinking that they basically were giving us our Per person port charge back for that port. Not some kind of good faith measure on the cruise lines part. Am I wrong or right? I've been on over 20 cruises and have missed a few ports over time, But never thought that we had prepaid port charges for ports we didn't enter. Thanks

  3. Thanks everyone. I have sent in the PVP request. I hope they can help. I just want the OBC and the $800 from previous cruise applied to the booking I made. The rep. transferred me to resolution at 9 this morning and that who I was holding for. I have plenty of time to resolve and get everything straightened out. I am sure a PVP will help. I was hoping to get to to Platinum with Carnival with this and one more cruise. I am sure everything will be fine. Thanks for the responses.

  4. 2 hours and thirty minutes now, I am giving up. I guess if they don't apply the credits I can always cancel and just not cruise Carnival anymore. I have been over 60 days with Carnival and always bring at least 6 to 10 other family members with us. I feel they could take a number and call back as they can or text with a date they will call you back.

  5. Got off the Epic on Saturday the 25th. I went down to the guest services desk and they put us on the number 4 tender which was around 8:00am, I told her we didn't have to be that early but she said if you have number 4 you can go anytime after it has been called without waiting. When they made announcements for the ferries they called1,2,&3 first then 4, then 5 & six and said also 1,2,3,& 4. also the tender you have for Grand Cayman was the same number for GSC. Hope this helps.

  6. I think the the service on Carnival declining is directly related to the prepaid tips.In the past waiters and room stewards would strive to get as much face time and give great service. I always left a nice tip and even with prepaid I usually tip extra for good service, but knowing that most people aren't going to remove their tips really cut down the motivation to provide top notch service.

  7. We did the Caribbean Princess Thanksgiving and did the Crown Grill on the Curacao night. We booked for as late as possible I think 8:30. That way we didn't have to hurry back on the ship to make our regular dining. Tom in the crooners bar on the first sea day is really fun if you participate, we actually taught him some new words on the sing-alongs.
