  1. Nothing I've haven't seen discussed and/or theorized on the boards already.

    1. Some cruise lines might not make it.

    2. Itineraries will most likely change.

    3. Prices Will Fall

    4. Related Costs Will Rise (ie: gratuities, tour prices, transport to/from port)

    5. Cruising Rules and Process changes are unknown (ie: screening, refund schedule, reinstating medical forms for seniors, etc.)

    6. Access to Facilities (ie: how things work in general on board: theater capacity, gym capacity, swimming pool/bar capacity)

    7. Travel Insurance (ie: will not cover Covid 19, Pandemic) Harder to obtain/more costly for older passengers.

  2. Wow! The concept of being booted off a ship because it's been chartered never even occurred to me! We recently did a lift and shift to a September 2021 cruise (on Summit) for New England/Canada. Does anyone know if there are certain itineraries that are more likely to be commandeered? I've been not-so-patiently waiting for this cruise since Jan 2019, and would hate to be delayed AGAIN!! 😞

Was your $50 deposit carried over, with no requirement to pay the full deposit ($900+/-)?

My sister and brother in law are on the same $50 deposit deal, but when their L&S came through,, the booking confirmation says they need to pay the deposit by 5:00 PM today.

Final payment date changed to 2021, but not deposit.

    Thanks

Hi. I just did a lift and shift and they took my original $50 deposit and applied it to the 2021 cruise. My confirmation did state the original $900 deposit was due on May 14; however, my TA said that I could just ignore it. That deadline has passed and we are still confirmed.

  4. Hi All,

Per Celebrity's email from 3/27/20, they are modifying New England/Canada Cruises departing in May/June. I can't find on the website what the itinerary changes are, and the website states that guests booked on those cruises will be notified directly of the changes. If there is anyone who receives this information, can you share what the changes are? I"m booked for this cruise in September, and like many am on the fence about going. Knowing what kind of changes they are making may make the decision easier.

    Thanks!

  5. Undecided. We are scheduled for New England/Canada in September. While that is a ways off, mom is 72 and has stage 4 breast cancer. Medication definitely puts her in the immune compromised category. Mostly concerned for her. Waiting and seeing.....sigh. 😞

    Hi,

Thank you SO much for posting. I know keeping us all updated is the last thing you should be doing....especially with crappy internet!

My mom and I will be sailing with Millie on 5/27. She was very excited about Bistro on Five, since they have savory crepes, so it's a little disappointing to see that they have changed it. I even called Celebrity today to confirm that Bistro is still there and they said it was. Frustrating that they don't even know what is on their own ships!:mad::mad:

For my peace of mind, can you please confirm that there are no savory crepes on the menu? I know that this is small potatoes in comparison to everything the ship and itinerary has to offer, but we've had a really difficult year, and this was a small victory for us. It lifted her spirit. :)

Thanks in advance and please enjoy your trip!

    Deanna :)
