1. We've never sailed on Celebrity and are currently booked in Cabin 6001 for a cruise next year. It's outside, facing the front of the ship, overlooking the helicopter pad. In the past we've been outside facing a side, balcony facing a side and on our first cruises inside.

Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences with this type of cabin (or even this one specifically)?

    TIA

  2. We're a couple in our 60's, never did a river cruise but we've been enthralled with the thought. Paris to the Heart of Normandy has sounded great for 2018. My wife is recovering from a leg injury and should be in good shape by then-but you never know. Just wondering if anyone who has been on this trip could give us some idea of how much, and how difficult the walking is on this tour.

    Thanks for any thoughts.

  3. Has anyone ever stayed on deck two? Never stayed that low on a ship!

We were on Explorer in November, 2nd deck outside, near the aft elevators and found the cabin fine. Bonus was that it was so easy to disembark at the ports and at a tender stop. Easy to get to the MDR at dinner as well. We found no problem re noise or motion.

We had been on Explorer previously and I felt the room attendant was not as good as my previous experiences which were higher and balcony. I don't know if it was the individual or if RCCL gives more rooms, less time per room on the lower decks/ouside vis upper/balcony. Note although the attendant was not as good, there was no problem.

  4. We recently returned from our second Explorer of the Seas trip. For formal night I wore a dark sport jacket, white shirt and tie. I was less formal than the average guest but clearly not out of line. I was close enough to the range that I absolutely did not feel out of place. I got to our table of 60somethings and the men were mixed between dark suits and dark sport jackets. All were with white shorts and ties. The Royal Carib guests, by and large, are not of the stuffy type.

That said, NYE might be a different story.

Enjoy the cruise and your stops as well!

Woops!!! Sorry-I meant white shirts, not white shorts.

  6.
I apparently have saved a cruise compass from August 3rd of this year (thanks to whoever provided that!), it says that Lora is the piano player. Can't say for sure that it hasn't changed since!

Clarea, do you know how close you need to be to your cruise to request entertainment info via email? We're 44 days out, think they'd be able to tell me at this point?
Just got back from an Explorer cruise. Lora is still the singer/piano player there. My favorite though was Scott in the Crown and Kettle. One night early in the trip he does a Neil Diamond set and the rest of the trip is audience request-mostly 50's, 60's and 70's
