There won't be a next time with Princess, this has soured the relationship beyond redemption 🙁
I think you would find that in the circumstances, no cruise lines would cover your accommodation, transfers, etc during a weather event that delayed the cruise.
I imagine accommodation for passengers booked in 1,000 cabins would cost around $200,000 (about $200 per night/room). Not to mention the cost of transfers, meals and changed flights! If they paid up they would eventually have to pass these costs onto passengers through increased cruise fares in the future.
At least your travel insurance will pay all your out of pocket expenses for the delay👍.

The unavoidable delay will cost Princess a considerable amount. They will have to pay one night's accommodation for passengers who don't live in Brisbane and give them a pro rata credit for the day of their cruise that they miss. Add to that, they will probably have to skip one port so they lose the profit on shore tours in that port. Passengers on board who have to fly home will need their flights re-scheduled, with Princess paying for any costs involved.
Why should Princess have to pay for passengers' accommodation &/or flight changes if the ship is delayed due to weather ie. no fault of their own?
Isn't this one reason why we take out travel insurance?

My understanding is that they wash it all together, in very very HOT water.
And that has always been my concern.
You would have to be very selective as to what you put in the bag.
-
Do they separate lights and darks/colours or just chuck it all in the same machine?
-
Are you able to change the originally selected perk for a different one after final payment but before sailing date?

I bought a reindeer skin :). It's gorgeous and is hanging over the back of our family room couch - great conversation point.

PS This is another example of the beaut stuff we find out on Cruise Critic
I agree totally :D

Hi there,
These machines are still using coins, and have not been updated to the paper ticket system. Thanks!
And do they spit out coins or a docket when you collect your winnings?

Does anyone know what the ingredients are in the Iglu powder mix? I've done a Google search and cannot find an answer.
It sounds a bit fake:confused:

A person in front of me getting cereal grab about 8 boxes of granola and told me that she wanted to stock up because they will run out.

Yes, you need to ring up as there appears to be no way of getting OBC online, also if you used a TA, you need to go through them.:D
I beg to differ - I used a travel agent to book our cruise and had no problem paying them direct. (Celebrity also didn't charge a cc fee like many travel related businesses do in Australia these days)

About 7 years ago we did a TA cruise with our then 17 year old daughter.
She requested olive oil and balsamic vinegar for her salad on the first couple of evenings in the dining room and after that our waiter had it ready for her every night :D.

I purchased OBC on-line 5 days ago and received the first email but no sign of a second email.
So I phoned Celebrity on the Australian 1800 number (yes, I booked with an Aus travel agent) and finally got through to the Gifts Onboard section which I presume is in the US. They couldn't see my online purchase so I made a transaction over the phone and they confirmed that it would be charged to my credit card in AUD.
This morning, three days later, the transaction is finally showing on my credit card so all good.
Now we will see how much I receive on board ;).

Do they offer Apple training on all ships?

Wow - we did a Med cruise on the Galaxy in 2006 and had a ball :D.
Thanks for posting the pic.

We stayed one night at MBS (just for the experience) and three at the Conrad last year.
Make sure you don't book the cheapest room as you will get a low floor. After lots of research I am glad I booked a club room - high floor and we were upgraded to a humungous suite with views over the city from the lounge and bedroom and from the bathroom we looked over the Gardens by the Bay. Club access included breakfast, all day refreshments, afternoon tea and evening drinks and canapes :).
Time your visits to the pool for during the day when most people are out sightseeing and at conferences. It gets ridiculously crowded after about 3pm and into the evening.
There is a train station right underneath the hotel which is convenient for access to lots of areas around Singapore including the airport.
Oh, and don't miss Gardens by the Bay just behind the hotel.

Can you get credit cards in Australia that do not charge any fee for currency conversion, the way we do here in America?
Yes, 28 Degrees Mastercard does not charge foreign conversion fees.
And Citibank Plus Visa debit card does not charge ATM or foreign conversion fees. :D
I use both when I travel overseas and they are excellent products.

Don't forget that those in inside cabins don't get the 123 Go package ;)

I've just this minute phoned the Cat Tavern (at the end of Salisbury station forecourt) to confirm that their left-luggage service is still available. Yes, available daily 8am to 11pm, charge £3 per bag.
(after visiting Stonehenge, get off the ho-ho in Salisbury city centre to enjoy its sights & cathedral. Then ho-ho or regular bus or taxi or 10-15 min walk back to the station (for the distance involved it's not worth waiting for the ho-ho if one's not due for a while)
Thank you so much John. I really appreciate your help and advice.
Fifa - lots of hotel options but I did find a 99 GBP room at St Giles Hotel
I have already booked the Hilton Bath City at 75GBP per night. As a Hilton Diamond member I get free breakfast, upgrade and internet so I think it's great value.

Thanks for your help John.
Your fantastic advice means we are now doing as you suggested - Southampton to Salisbury, hoho bus to Stonehenge, then back on the train to Bath.
Perfect :D
-
Thanks for your detailed ideas John Bull.
You have now given us something extra to think about. I like the idea of getting off the train at Salisbury and visiting Stonehenge from there then continuing on to Bath.
Do you have to purchase 2 separate train tickets or are you able to get one that allows you to get off and back on?
-
We are catching a train from Southampton to Bath Spa in September and tickets purchased in advance on-line are only GBP6 pp.
We'll stay 2 nights in Bath then hire a car, drive to Stonehenge then to Stratford-upon-Avon for a night before dropping the car outside London and catching a train into Victoria Station near our hotel :)

Be vey cautious of using credit card insurance if you have pre-existing medical conditions. Many won’t cover you for anything but the basic listed conditions.
