  1. I originally refrained from commenting on any of the negative posts. I was taken aback at how rude some of the comments were. Since I'm the original poster I will add my two cents. I wasn't looking for anyone's opinion as to if I should take my daughter, I just wanted to know what the policy was on the cruise line. For the record, I am a single mother and I travel and dine with my daughter often. She IS my date! I give her my full attention during dinner. I am working very hard to teach her about how to behave in many different settings, especially at restaurants. I also like to expose her to many different cuisines. She can recognize more herbs than most adults.

I actually feel bad for those people who don't understand the joy a child, especially of her age, can bring to any experience. My daughter, like most children, is full of joy and wonder and notices things that I am no longer sensitive to. She enhances every part of my life.

I specifically was curious about Q'sine because I thought it would be fun for her but I wanted to make sure it wasn't akin to Alinea in Chicago(although I really didn't think it could be). This is a cruise ship and a vacation. It's should be fun.

Thank you to those who came to my defense, I appreciate it.

  2. I am going to be on a Baltic Cruise in June with my three year old daughter. I'm wondering if I can take her to the specialty restaurants. She is a very well behaved child who is used to dining in restaurants. She also has a very good palette and will eat almost anything. Just wondering if we would be comfortable at Qsine, etc. We will be on Silhouette.

I can't find Celebrities policy and they seem like they charge full price for children. Not a problem, just curious if anyone knows or has taken small children to these restaurants.

  3. I'm sorry - I know it's expensive, but for my family a private tour for just our family made all the difference in the world in St. Petersburg for us. My son at 3 was able to handle visiting all of the major attractions in St. Petersburg because we could stop when he was whiny and feed him immediately, and skip through lesser rooms and stay longer when he was interested. Your kids are older, but I wouldn't take the chance if you can afford it. We DIY the entire rest of the trip (skipped Berlin due to our son not being able to handle that at all). My signature line includes a review with a lot of discussion about taking kids on this trip. Back when the ruble's value fell some forum members reported that tour companies were willing to create private tours for their families for less than the stated value on their websites due to the fact that since tours are paid in US dollars, when the ruble falls they still make more money. I have no idea if it would work, but it might be worth emailing the major companies to see if any of them would be willing to charge you less. Good luck.

Kitkat343…I'm wondering which private tour company you used in St. Petersburg. I will also be cursing the Baltic with a 3 year old in June.
