  1. Hi all!

I just recently started reading this board and it has been so helpful so far! I've tried searching for more information but I haven't seen anything regarding my questions so I thought I'd ask.

For the time to celebrate big package, if I wanted to get married onshore could I have the reception much later so that we could enjoy time on the island or do we have to immediately return to the ship?

Is the steakhouse the only restaurant you can buy out? For instance, if I wanted to do the Italian restaurant is that possible? Could I just do a large group booking? I would expect around 40 sailing guests.

    Thanks for your help :)

Did you find the answer to your question?

  2. Hi ladies!

The 2015 Brides! thread was so helpful (I read the whole thing the day after my engagement) and so successful that now that I am booked for a 2016 wedding, I thought I would start a new thread for our year! Anyone booked in 2016 yet?

I am officially getting married on the Carnival Sensation on March 24, 2016! We booked the cabin and the Time to Celebrate Big package last night and thanks to the 2015 ladies, secured the DJ so that I will know my reception is in the Kaleidoscope nightclub.

Cheers to the 2016 brides! The next year should be a lot of fun getting everything planned. I can't wait to meet you all!

We will be right behind you on March 31 on Sensation in Half Moon Cay.

  3. Lovely Ladies I need some advice.

I had my heart set on a fall wedding (September) and have given close friends and family a heads up when asked about my date. The problem that I am running into is that this does not seem to be a very convenient time of year for lots of people.

The 2 main complaints that I have gotten are...

    1. September is the start of Football season (pre-season but whatever)

    2. Lots of people will have children in school at the time.

My questions for you all are... did you run into to any scheduling conflicts when setting your date? Did this effect the number of people who attended your wedding or did they simply attend as a non-sailing guest? Did the length of your cruise effect the number of guests in attendance

I was originally getting hitched Sept 2016 but with a fiancé who is less than enthused by the thought of wedding planning and no wedding party ( our decision, just seems simpler) the planning is pretty much left to my mother and I. I work full time, entering my second year of grad school and starting a 20 hr/wk internship in a few weeks so we decided to push the wedding back to September 2017 to give me more time to plan and actually enjoy the process.

Yes, to all of your questions. We tried to accommodate everyone before thinking about ourselves. It gave me a headache. I thought about my sister with four kids, my unemployed best friend, and my grandmother who refuses transportation outside of a car. BUT we wanted our destination wedding and that's what we were going to get. I set it up in my mind whoever is supposed to be there will be there. (This remains our motto). We picked the date and sent out the invitations to over 100 people. We heard so many excuses but we knew we had to accommodate our family and what we dreamed of on out wedding day.

  4. Thank you for reading, I hope you found the review helpful! I think the most important thing about a cruise wedding is to NOT stress over every little tiny detail (I think it sort of defeats the purpose of having a destination wedding if you're going to still want to control every little thing). Just enjoy the day! I will send you the documents!

    Great review!!
