spalmer114 -- I agree with you!!!! We were there in early February and did not have the magical experience I keep reading about here. I thought the place was very small, and did not feel like a resort or beach club at all. The beach was unimpressive, and getting into the water was an adventure in itself since there is a wall of slippery rocks and coral between you and the water.
I was thinking there might be another place with a similar name that was the one I was reading about on this board, but after seeing photos, I know I was at the same place.
I was especially frustrated by my day there because I had planned to go to chankanaab park but couldn't find a cab at the port to take just the two of us there....they were all insisting on at least 5 people to go to one place! We tried for over an hour and finally gave up and got into a cab with 4 people who were having trouble getting a cab like we did.

Wonderful! I've been waiting to see a NEW picture of Labadee since the dock was completed.
I see that they've repositioned the jetskis (probably for greater visibility and increased sales), and I'm thinking that Columbus Cove is probably the place for those of us who want a quiet place and a good beach. I've never actually been that far; what's the beach /water like?
We LOVED Columbus Cove -- it was not crowded, the water was calm, and there was shade! The only drawback was that they did not serve lunch in the pavilion at that beach the day we were there. I'm not sure if that is normal or not. So, we had to walk a bit to get to the lunch pavilion.

3 out of my 5 cruises I have had a cabin near the elevators and will book near them again every time, if I can! Convenient....no long halls to navigate....quiet...easy to find.

Schooner Bar's piano bar was a lot of fun on Adventure

If you go back to the main page of the message boards and check out the "ports of call" boards, you will find a TON of information about the beaches at each port. You will have no shortage of options in any of those ports!

we were also there in Feb 2010 and were very disappointed -- it was run down, no easy access to the water, and VERY small!
