    MSC has updated their website to include Italy today (see below.)

    I don't know how it works, my embarkation is from Genoa, Italy. Now, they won't allow Italy visit including transit in the past 14 days. Shouldn't this became invalid port?

    We are denying boarding to anyone from high-risk areas:

    • Anyone who has traveled to, from or through mainland ChinaHong KongMacau, Iran, South Korea and Italy (or transited via airports) in the past 14 days, or visited, will be denied access to the ship. The same rules apply to such passengers’ travel companions (parent, spouse, child, siblings, or a companion who shares a stateroom) PLEASE NOTE: Travelers choosing to travel with their Italian passport but residing elsewhere must show official proof of residency. Residency must not be in one of the above countries. Travel history must also show that travelers did not come through one of those territories during the past 14 days;
    • For guests embarking on MSC Bellissima and MSC Lirica from Dubai only. On top of the restrictions above we are denying boarding also to anyone who lives in, or has travelled to, from or through mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, Iran and Italy. This restriction does not apply if guests have only transited in sterile areas of relevant mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, Iran and Italy airports as coming from other non affected areas;
    • Anyone who, within 14 days before embarkation, has had close contact with, or helped care for, anyone suspected or diagnosed as having coronavirus, or who is currently subject to health monitoring for possible exposure to novel coronavirus, will be denied boarding.

    Interesting that the same wording has not made its way to the Canadian MSC site. This seems to be problematic for Med. sailings.

  2. MSC has updated their Coronavirus travel restrictions today (February 24, 2020). Their Web Site now states this:

    "We are denying boarding to anyone from high-risk areas:

    • Anyone who has travelled to, from or through mainland China, Hong Kong or Macau, (or transited via airports) in the past 14 days, or visited, will be denied access to the ship. The same rules apply to such guests’ travel companions (parent, spouse, child, siblings, or a companion who shares a stateroom).

    • Similarly, anyone who lives in, or has travelled to, from or through any of the following towns in central northern Italy in the past 14 days, or visited, will be denied access: Casalpusterlengo, Codogno, Castiglione d'Adda, Fombio, Maleo, Somaglia, Bertonico, Terranova dei Passerini, Castelgerundo, San Fiorano and Vò. These are the municipalities that are subject to quarantine measures put in place by the Italian health authorities. "

    I wonder how many more locations will be included in the exclusion and how this will affect sailings leaving Italian ports.

  3. We booked using the US site last year and were able to prebook excursions. We are booked again this year on the Seaview, but used the Canadian site. There are no excursions available to be booked. As others have mentioned, I was told that they are waiting to get approval to start selling excursions in Canada.

  4. We made final  payment for our April YC on Seaview. There is no mention of the minibar under the "Yacht Club Experience" section in our booking confirmation, but Premium Internet package is listed as included without any asterisk about starting May 2020.

    Everyone is upset about this possible change, but I have yet to see anyone giving MSC props for adding the premium internet package to the list of YC privileges.  I'd personally trade snacks and minibar for free internet in a heartbeat.

    For me personally, my concern is coming from the lack of transparency of a change to a previously included amenity.  The fact that they are "adding" internet doesn't excuse this.

  6. What is also interesting is that communication about the change was done via onboard memo rather than an email ahead of time.  I'm sure there were some disgruntled folks upon embarkation.

    We will be on Seaview in YC again in April. If these changes are made, we will be disappointed. It was nice to have a quick salty snack at the end of the night or after returning from a long day in port.  Room service tended to take forever. People mention having their butler deliver drinks to the room. We've been on 2 previous YC sailings and have never done this.  I can't imagine the wait for that.

    Is the pizza the one they serve at the main buffet? If so, I have to say it looked absolutely disgusting. Mike is obsessed with pizza and didn’t even want to go near it. The pizza on Celebrity is quite tasty (sometimes they might have an off batch) and MSC’s didn’t look anywhere near as good.

    We ordered pizza to our room a couple times on both our Meraviglia and Seaview YC and the pizza was always hot and fresh.
