Both beverage packages do include coca cola drinks in cans such as Diet Coke, Coke Zero, and I believe Caffeine Free Coke.  The "Freestyle" machine with all the varied flavors is only on the Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam.  The machine requires a special cup to be able to dispense.

Thank you Nancy. I needed to know if either of the Bottled or Canned Water is “spring water”   not “purified water”. There is such a big difference in them.  I really appreciate you posting the menu because I checked and the Acqua Panna is Spring water!!! Thanks again!

  2. It’s been awhile since I’ve been on a HAL ship. I heard that the only water to purchase ( no tap water) is purified water in a can. I am traveling on the Koningsdam in January and wonder if someone currently on it or any HAL ship could tell me if the have any Spring water. I am allergic to purified water and it’s a long way to Hawaii if I have no water. Thanks in advance.
(UsuallyCrystal Geiser or Arrowhead are common ones other ships carry.)

  3. I'm too late with this information and maybe it will help someone else. We were four couple with 2 large suitcases each and backpacks arriving 4 days before the start of our cruise. The Bath Airport Transfer had a large comfortable vehicle, handled major traffic and was top of the line service both to Bath and days later to Southampton. The Abbey Hotel was perfectly positioned to see all the major sites in Bath or a stop on the Hop On Hop Off.

  4. The CDC does not recommend a first time yellow fever shot for persons over the age of 60. On a recent Hal Grand voyage trip to West Africa, where The Gambia required the shot, medical letters from our Primary Physician stating the CDC recommendation and our current medical health along with the Yellow travel immunization card were necessary to board the ship and then it was up to the Port Authority if they would allow us to disembark. We had no problem and had a great day there. It was stressful because so much information pre-cruise conflicted. We were prepared to stay on board if necessary and am happy to say it wasn't. Enjoy your cruise!

  5. Would anyone who has traveled on the VOV in the last few years help answer a question ( or 2)? I am unsure exactly how to pack for the voyage. We leave on Aug 2 and I know we may have cold outside weather, however, what do people wear on the ship? Since it is summer is the ship warm or is the dress fall/ winter clothing since the outside could be cold? I am concerned about daytime wear and dining room dress. Thanks to anyone who will help.

  6. I started reading your posts to learn about the Rotterdam before boarding her in August as I'm a newbie on HAL. You have done a tremendous job providing information and beautiful pictures. I was in Rouen, sick with a bronchial problem after touring Great Britain, and could have missed seeing this city. Your pictures of the church, clock and streets brought back the joy of that day and I am again grateful I didn't miss it! Thank you for that and all your hard work taking us along!

  7. I would not take a tour at all if this is your first visit. I'd take he train ( you will be berthed alongside) into Cork and then either a walking tour ( guided or by yourself) or the hoho bus. There will probably also be time explore Cobh after the return train journey.

The Irish Heritage Area and Immigration Museum are also at the pier. Train station is right there.

We took the train into Cork ( bought round trip ticket 5.1euro per person, takes 24 minutes, exit Kent Station. Then walk to Parnell Place Station and take the local bus #224 out to Blarney, 9 miles/20minute ride 5.6 euro per person round trip where we walked around the grounds and the village. We took the bus back to Cork and walked that town and finally caught the train back to Cobh. We found it very easy to do.

  8. Just off the Grand Princess( 10 day Alaskan) and we were in a suite. The canapés sat for hours before we got back to our cabin - we were afraid to eat them. First formal night we received chocolate covered strawberries and corsages, second formal night a platter of white and dark chocolates arrived.

  9. Hi Nancy. I just stumbled across your roll call. My question is that I can't seem to find when your ship sailed in the roll call? It doesn't seem togo back that far. Any suggestions? I'm on the June 26th sailing, and still trying to figure out excursions, clothes, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Post #1 explains and refers to the original roll call if that would help you, cruiser3256

  10. Sue,

Would you be able to check on the Dublin port for us? We are on the August 25 cruise and the port is reporting we will arrive at noon. We are listed on our itinerary as arriving at Dun L. at 7 am. We booked a private tour from 8-12:30 for Glendalough and the tour operator is wanting to refund our money because of the new schedule. He also can't help us later as he has another tour booked. I thought maybe Excursions or Customer service on the ship might know if this is the new schedule. A phone call to Princess got me nowhere and our travel agent is on 2 week vacation. Would appreciate it.

  11. Which Grand are we talking about?

The Grand Princess that was in wet-dock. See my error in that the system being replaced is that old not the ship[emoji53]
