  1. I was on the August 7-14 cruise. I totally concur with what you said. It was so bad that I stood up ONCE to stretch and a man began pulling the chair out from under me. Rudeness was shown that cruise.

For real? That is funny and sad.

I get up everyday around 5:30 AM to prepare for work. There is no way that on my vacation Im going to get up at 5:50 AM for a lounge chair. I have been cruising for years and refuse to get annoyed with the chair hording situation. My wife and I usually work around the issue and enjoy ourselves. There are strategies. Besides, why would I want to lay or sit in the sun all day. We find a nice quiet spot on deck and relax as a vacation it should be.

  2. Our 2nd cruise with Carnival in Feb. on the Conquest. What does FTTF mean? Thank you.

FTTF: Fast To The Fun program. For a few xtra $$ you get to board and disembark a little quicker than other passengers. There is probably some other perks as well but i cant recall. I thinks its $59 per. We used it and from our experience it was worth it. You will find it under excursions and its not always available. If you are interested, Just keep checking in the event it does became available.

  3. First, travelena, like the username.

My wife and I were on the Allure in 2014. We did not do the Med itinerary. Were did the caribbean. The ship was really impressive, and Our itinerary was great. Our only small complaint was related to service. We highly recommend this ship even if you sail on her just once. It's a must do, at least, once.

We look forward to doing Med sailing on the Allure.

  4. Hopefully the crew is working on resolving any maintenance issues but this may be of little consolation for those of you sailing soon. My suggestion is if you have not cruised on the Conquest to research her first so that you can make an informed decision. We knew going in somewhat to expect. We chose the Conquest for its itinerary. If you are not satisfied with what your research turns up then look into alternatives. I believe the Breeze offers the same itinerary and its a much newer ship.

Many post have been very favorable and others have not. Do your research and make your choice.

  5. No one has said to ignore anything. Since returning from this cruise I written several post indicating issues with the Conquest's condition. It would be hard to ignore a hot dinning room as you try to enjoy your meal. As I stated we would not reccommend this ship because of he wear and tear (this includes maintenance issues) but I would reccomend to make lemon aide when given lemons. We enjoyed ourselves despite the issues and focused on the good. Upon our return we wrote to Carnival and posted comments.

  6. A week cruising is 100 times better than one week at work hands down. We love cruising and as stated in my posts we enjoyed ourselves. I know its a cliché but a cruise is what you make of it or any trip for that matter. We do not recommend the ship itself (Conquest) but this doesn't mean that you will not have a great time. Perception is reality. You may not encounter or be bothered by things that affect other people.

Have fun. Go in with a positive attitude and remember you will be on vacation so relax and enjoy.

  7. My wife and I sailed on the Conquest 8/15/15. We thought the ports, and were great. The entertainment was good as well. The CD was a little corny at time but he did a good job. We were not impressed with the ship itself. Our only concern was with the ship's condition. The wear and tear was very noticeable even if you were not looking for it.

We are not loyal to any one cruise line. We like them all or at least the three different lines that we have tried. Even though we do not recommend the ship itself until it is dry docked, we would still sail with Carnival again.

    Air Conditioner

I have read several post indicating the air conditioner was faulty, and even heard this while sailing form other passengers. We were on the 8th forward which is under the Lido deck, but it is located under cabins not the pool or bufet. Our air conditioner worked fine. What we did notice was in certain spots here and there throughout the ship it did feel a little warm and muggy. The vent in the casino can’t keep up with the cigarette smoke, but I the air did work.

    Embarkation

We flew in via Miami. We used the airport check which was very fast because we had FTTF, but it took 2 hours for the shuttle bus to pick us up at MIA. Once we arrived at the port we walked right in but let me tell you the scene there was chaotic.

    Guest Services

We encountered several issues which were quickly resolved. We used the phone in the room and the matters were addressed and rectified. On the second day we only had hot water. We called maintenance and they showed up right away to correct the problem.

  8. As far as entertainment (night shows and, comdey shows), games (poolside and elsewhere and trivia) and the cruise the director you will be busy. The Latin Club and the main dancd club (Cant recall the names of the clubs) will keep you moving. At least, on our sailing we found something to do everyday while on board.

Note: an adult game at one of the night clubs lead bybthe cruise dirdctor got pretty raunchy but funny and fun.

  9. We sailed on the Conquest August 15th. Nothing good to say about the ship itself. Itinerary (southern caibbean), service and entertainment was great. Jase did a good job. One of the very few things we can say about the ship is that, at least, our cabin had good air conditioning. We didnt heat anything about pipes but fellow cruisers did complain about other issues related to the ship's condition. Make lemon aid out of lemons. We had a great time despite the condition issues.

  10. Point taken. I enjoyed my fair share as well.

I like all cruise lines and would cruise year round if I could. I used to not post or review, but I start after my third cruise because I thought sharing our expierences wod help others. Feed back is good. Some people complain about everything from the smell of the soap to the pools being too crowded. Thats fine and I respect whatever people want to vent about. We do our best to stay away from negativity but when it needs to be mentioned we do so. To Carnival's credit they are quick in addressing and resolving complaints. Nothing ruins our vacation unless we were boarded by pirates on the same day we are struck by a storm as we were getting over novorvirus. I cant see that situation ever happening so meanwhile i will enjoy all our cruises and hope everyone can do the same.

  11. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and Ive mentioned numerous time that the issue did not affect our cruise but are worth mentioning because they were plenty. Injust mentioned a few. Lack of maintenance is a sign of something bigger. Ive sailed with Carnival before and never encounter issue to the point that some of them were a hazzard. My review is intended as feedback and its up to the indiviuals to make his/her decision. I can see the Carnival loyalty in the posts. I am not loyal to one cruise. We like all of the ones we have been on, but I Thought the issues encountered on uis ship were worth mentioning. Take as you may and make you own conclusions. I just shared my experience. Listing each and every issue on this post would be a waste of energy and time and im sure it would not deter most from making their choice. It didnt deter me.

    Enjoy

  12. Cracked window in the buffet. I only took a few pics here and there in passing because i refused to spend my vacation taking pics of wear and tear. Warn torn chairs. One of the main dining room seat had a tear in so wide a child could fit. We observed the people setting there complain. I hadnt observed these kinds of issues on other cruises or at least this common throughout.

  13. Im sure you are not, and I am usually skeptical of post or reviews that report the negative or nick picking. I refrained from posting pics of issues because Our feedback should reflect on the line's brass and not the hard working crew. As one example, The pic is of the balcony's door latch. Friend's of our also cruisng on this ship reported the same.

  14. Thank for sharing your experience of the Conquest, but as I wrote people experience things different. We did not look for things, they were right in our faces. I was on vacation and not inspecting so my focus is on enjoying myself. Unfortunately, the condition issues were too obvious. I had a great time because I had an idea of he ship's condition going in. My review mentions the good as well. Good luck.

Once again ship condition aside anyone sailing on the Conquest should enjoy their vacation and focus on family, ports and entertainment.

  15. As much as we try to be objective no review it truly objective. People base their reviews on past and present experiences whether good or bad. Reviews can be used as a starting point or general guide taken with a grain of salt.

We sailed on the Conquest on August 15th, and as far as the itinerary, service and entertainment goes the cruise was great. The cruise director was good as well. He earned his money. As for the ship itself, our opinion is that it is in need of a major overhaul. Nothing ruins our family vacation, and anytime spent with family is fun quality time. Sometimes we pick a cruise for the ship, sometimes for the itinerary, and sometimes for both. This time we chose our cruise for the itinerary. I cannot recommend the ship itself, but if the ship is not on the top of your list , and itinerary, service and entertainment is then go for it. I am a fan of cruising no matter which line, and we have tried the main three. I had to mention the condition of this ship because I feel it is only fair to fellow cruisers. We are easy to please, and do not nick pick. Our experience is that the issues encountered were right in our faces. To Carnival's credit some of the issues were address and resolved for the most part. Hopefully, the Conquest will be added to the dry dock list soon.

Ship's condition aside, Have lots fun and enjoy your family time.
