  1. If you did cruise or know of someone that did, I have some questions. Did the crew members make you wait until the designated time (after 5pm on last sea day)? The reason why I am asking is because I read this in a review about the drink coupon, "There were some crew members on the Carnival Elation that did not follow the written fine print instructions on the coupon. A few people managed to use their coupons early in the cruise. Other bartenders told people that the coupon could be used at any time on the last sea day. However, there were some crew members that did follow the rules exactly as presented on the coupon. When a cruise ship is away at sea, the corporate office's guidelines are not always exactly followed as intended. The bartenders were making up their own rules with the drink coupons, but it appeared that most were following the written price limit."

After reading this is sounds like the crew can do what they want to with the coupons. While this possibility doesn't surprise me, I am wondering if anyone else has had this same experience? Also, how was the liter of bottled water?

  2. After our last cruise on Conquest we answered the on line survey and gave them bad ratings for cold food in the MDR and the non enforcement of people vaping. They called several days ago and wanted to know more and gave us a $50 obc on our next cruise. Not bad

It is nice to know Carnival actually reads the surveys!

  3. When we went on the Disney Magic several years ago, they told us that the ship had to be dry-docked every five years or so for routine maintenance and new paint. I never realized it, but that constant painting they do on the exterior of the ship adds up to many tons of extra weight over the years and it needs to be periodically removed and redone.

I did not know this. Thank you for sharing.

  4. I thought ships had to be dry docked every five years? Look like some slip into 6 years. Looking at the list in the link Liberty last dry dock was 2011 but not listed. Looks like they will need to be added to some timeframe in 2016.

I think you're right about the five year thing. However, I am not sure if five years is a law, regulation, or just a rule Carnival Corporation set for itself.

You're right about the Liberty. Maybe Carnival is still going to announce one for it?

  5. I just saw the Carnival Splendor, Carnival Valor, Carnival Magic, and Carnival Fantasy have dry-docks now announced for next year, 2016.

Does anybody know what these ships will receive or can anyone give any juicy speculation of what they think these ships will get?

One Side Note: The Carnival Fantasy is scheduled for a two week dry-dock. Thankfully, this means the ship probably won't be getting sold as some on here have suggested. The Fantasy will survive with Carnival another year!!

    Have a Great Weekend!
